WASHINGTON — President Obama delivered a strong defense on Friday night of a proposed Muslim community center and mosque near ground zero in Manhattan, using a White House dinner celebrating Ramadan to proclaim that “as a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country.”

Why are liberals so eager to bend over backwards to prove to people like bin Laden how tolerant and accepting we are? Why are liberals so eager to proclaim that we must live up to our highest ideals, when our enemies do not respect those ideals, and do not have greater respect for us because of those ideals? The Mayor, Gov, and PUSA all support and endorse this Mosque, which in turn means they endorse Islam. While they haven’t made a law, there has to be something really wrong with and in violation of the First amendment.

Have these folks even thought about the union problems they will face? You can’t flush a toilet in NYC without a union being involved.

Most Unions have stated that they will not be involved in the building of a mosque near ground zero ... many union members lost union brothers on 9/11.

I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country...typical leftwing straw man argument - no one's saying they can't practice their religion - the issue is that it's insensitive and offensive to have an edifice glorifying the group that murdered 3000 Americans built in the immediate presence of the site of the murders - but then since leftists are the only ones with any sensitivity and whose being offended is worth consideration, it's no wonder Obama can't deal with that real issue......
