***LOL!! Never heard that one.***

Most people haven't. It was from a rarely watched show “What's It All About World?” from 1969.

That particular episode had Dean Jones and Richardo Montalban singing the song about the coming earthquake in California.

I can't fine much more on it. Even the IMDB doesn't list Montalban on the show but I remember seeing it.

I also remember another song on that episode about the rhythm of life,

Rhythm in the bedroom, rhythm on your feet,
It's the rhythm of life, new life for me.

***Southern California is long overdue for a major earthquake along the San Andreas fault,***

OMG! We may be able to forstall it if WE ACT NOW! A new program paid for by the public would go a long way to fixing the problem BUT WE MUST DO IT NOW OR WE ALL GONNA DIE!

Don’t think, PASS AN ANTI EARTHQUAKE TAX NOW! NOW! NOW!

“Because San Francisco is not in Northern California. It’s in the Bay Area.”

That makes the same amount of sense as:

“Hermosa Beach is not in Southern California. It’s in the South Bay Area.”

or

“Laguna Beach is not in Southern California. It is in The OC.”

or

“Sonoma is not in Northern California. It is in the Wine Country.”

Isn’t quiet that’s abnormal . . . not a good sign in such regions?

BTW, what’s Katla in Iceland doing?

Saw a very off the wall claim recently that the gulf oil thing was a deliberate effort to get Yellowstone lit off.

That was a bit too far fetched for even me.

Though with the oligarchy having so many exotic technologies at their disposal . . . I suppose even the super far fetched is within plausibility these days.

Arab sources: A major military surprise is close. Galant scandal a smokescreen

DEBKAfile Special Report August 20, 2010, 1:04 PM (GMT+02:00)

Tags: Israel-Iran US-Iran War preparations
IRGC forces on war alert

War preparations are reported by debkafile’s military sources in Tehran and Damascus, debkafile’s military sources report.

In Tehran, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced Friday, Aug. 20: “IRGC is in full readiness to encounter firmly with the stupidity of the US and the Zionist regime.”

In Damascus, Syrian prime minister Naji al-Otari gathered his ministers and heads of security and emergency services Thursday and ordered them to place all their services on immediate war readiness.

And sources close to the Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas quoted him as saying that direct talks with Israel were not in the offing because “a big military surprise awaits the Middle East.”

On Thursday, too, Tehran pitched its threat level high by warning that any attack on Iran’s nuclear sites would be met by the IRGC “targeting the interests of the enemies in any part of the world.”

Some Iranian sources have suggested that Israel’s obsessive preoccupation with the Galant scandal (over a forged document designed to influence the choice of the next Israeli chief of staff) is a smokescreen for masking preparations for an imminent attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

In the United States, respected commentators this week talked and wrote openly about a possible war over Iran’s progress toward a nuclear bomb capability.

Former US ambassador to Israel, Martin Indyk, who has excellent connections in Washington and Jerusalem, wrote: “The United States is more likely than Israel to launch an attack on Iran.”

Lawrence Eagleburger, former US Secretary of State, had this to say about the activation of Iran’s first reactor at Bushehr Saturday, Aug. 21: “The world’s going to war over this. If Iran gets the weapon it’s going to use it.”

He urged an attack on Iran before it obtained a bomb.

Some other US experts suggest the world powers would wait longer than 11 months before weighing an attack, whereas informed American sources are talking for the first time in 14 months about a possible US-led multilateral Western attack on Iran which, according to debkafile’s military sources, would be in conjunction with Germany, Britain and France.

In the first week of June, 2009, those sources note, US, UK and French forces carried out a joint exercise at the French Canjuers training facility near Toulon, simulating a marine attack with close air support on Iranian ground targets

British planes took off for the exercise from airbases in the UK, while US warplanes flew in from the USS Harry S. Truman and French jets from their carrier, the Charles de Gaulle. It was their first display of strength, in which the German frigate FGS Hessen also took part, for a combined air-sea-ground war offensive.

The Truman and the Hessen are currently stationed in the Gulf of Oman opposite the strategic Straits of Hormuz.
In an apparent bid to calm the rising war fever in America, the New York Times Friday reported that the Washington has assured Israel that an Iranian threat was not imminent but had been delayed for a year by problems in enriching uranium and divisions within the regime over how far to push their nuclear program But the NYT added suspicions in Israel that the enrichment problems may be a pretext to conceal a secret enrichment site yet to be discovered in tunnels being dug across the country, including some near Natanz. Tehran may then take everyone by surprise and jump up with a nuclear bomb - in the same way as it caught the world napping with a banned uranium enrichment industry turning out fuel for a bomb unhindered.

AL QEIDA PLANS FOR ISRAEL WAR ETC.

FROM:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-08-18/al-qaeda-plans-for-war-with-israel/?cid=hp:mainpromo2

The terror group’s arm in Yemen is ordering jihadists across the region to ready themselves for a war “by the Jews against Iran” that will spread across the globe, according to a new audio message. Bruce Riedel on the assassinations al Qaeda is plotting to exploit the conflict—and the new threats against America.

Al Qaeda is warning its supporters and sympathizers to prepare for a new war in the Middle East, which it says will pit Israel against Iran. Al Qaeda’s franchise in Yemen, the self-styled al Qaeda in the Arabian Pennisula (AQAP), issued an audio message this month with a lecture by its second-in-command Saeed al Shehri in which he tells jihadists in the Middle East that “what is expected is for the war to begin by the Jews against Iran.” Israel will stage air strikes on Iran’s nuclear installations to start. Shehri expects the Iranian Shia regime to try to take advantage of an Israeli attack on its nuclear facilities to seize the holy cities of Mecca and Medina by blaming Saudi Arabia for helping Israel attack. In turn, the Israelis will seize territory in the Levant to establish “the greater state of Israel.” The Sunni Arab population of the Middle East will be caught between the “Jews in the Middle East and Iran in the Peninsula.”

Iran will attack American installations in the Gulf, encourage its proxies in Iraq and Afghanistan to attack Americans, and engage in a global terror campaign.

Shehri was held in Guantanamo for six years after being caught in Pakistan in December 2001 before being sent back home to his native Saudi Arabia and then fleeing to Yemen to help set up AQAP. He has been a creative strategist for AQAP from its start and was behind the plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia’s deputy interior minister, Muhammad bin Nayef, a year ago that failed only by inches when the suicide bomber tripped at the last minute. In this message, Shehri tells the jihadist faithful that this climatic war will offer many opportunities for al Qaeda and that they should begin planning now how to exploit the conflict. Any sympathizer who has access to Arab leaders like the princes of the House of Saud, for example, should look for a chance to kill one in an act of terror reminiscent of the assassination of the “tyrant Anwar Sadat” in 1981. Any pilot in the Saudi air force or other Arab air forces who secretly supports the jihad should fly his plane into Israeli air space and try to blow up a target by smashing into it. Other practical ways to create terror and mayhem are laid out as well.

Al Qaeda has consistently said a struggle between Israel and Iran can only be good for the global Islamic jihad by blooding two of its enemies and forcing America to side with Israel. But this warning is the most vivid by far and comes with the most explicit instructions on how to exploit a new conflict.

Shehri tells his supporters that AQAP is ready for the next war. He says the “Shura Council of the Mujahedin in the Arabian Peninsula” has held a meeting to prepare for the coming apocalypse and is ready to act. AQAP has demonstrated in the last year that it can reach beyond Yemen to carry out its plans when it dispatched the suicide bomber who tried to blow up Northwest Flight 253 last Christmas. It has been active this summer in attacking intelligence officers of the Yemeni government and in publishing Inspire, the first al Qaeda journal in English on the Internet. General James Mattis, the new commander of Central Command, told the Senate this week that al Qaeda is putting significant pressure on the Yemeni government, already stretched by other internal problems and that there are “signs of decline in the capacity of Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Salih to control the situation.”

So why does al Qaeda want another war? Because it calculates an Israeli strike on Iran will prompt Iran to strike back against not only Israel but also the United States. Iran will attack American installations in the Gulf, encourage its proxies in Iraq and Afghanistan to attack Americans, and engage in a global terror campaign. In Lebanon, Hezbollah will start another war, raining missiles down on northern Israeli cities and towns and provoking Israeli airstrikes on Beirut and maybe even into Syria. Iran might even try to close the Strait of Hormuz and disrupt the global energy market. All this chaos and violence will make America even more unpopular in the Islamic world and open doors for al Qaeda to exploit. In this they are right, another war will be blamed on America rightly or wrongly. Shehri and his boss, Osama bin Laden, probably don’t really know if another war is in the making but they are almost certainly right that if it comes it will be good news for al Qaeda.

GOOGLE PULLED ARTICLE ABOUT PLANS TO KILL VIABLE NET

http://www.infowars.com/google-yanks-kill-the-web-article-that-warned-of-internet-takeover/

Having at first appeared as normal, our earlier article about Google’s plan to kill the web has been completely de-listed from Google News. This is completely unprecedented and underscores how keen Google is to prevent people from finding out that it is a CIA-NSA front that is preparing to completely end the Internet as we know it with the Verizon net-neutrality killing deal.

The article, entitled Google Plans To Kill Web In Internet Takeover Agenda, originally appeared on Google News but was pulled shortly after.

A subsequent blurb promoting Alex Jones’ video presentation on the issue made it through to Google News but could also be yanked at any time.

In the face of this censorship, it’s more important than ever that people get the word out about Google’s plan to kill the web and replace it with a sterile clone of cable TV that will ensure all independent voices on the Internet are silenced forever.

Exactly. USGS seems to think that the Mexican quake pushed the plate pressure up to the Salton Sea — and the base of the San Andreas fault.

But USGS is also declining to do “aftershock prediction” these days. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/step/ They stopped not long after the Mexican quake apparently showed that their models were flawed.

Correct observation on the USFS intent, (effort) to shut down the national forests. That is all they have to do...there is little grazing on national forest lands in my area, no mining, no logging, its all recreation and road use/forest travel planning. And this seems to require dozens of useless employees. Twenty-five years ago, when I first moved to the town in Idaho where I live, (population 3,000) there were about 15-FS employees; now with nothing going on, there are about 120-employees. Absolutely crazy.

Thanks for that nonsequitur but the South Bay is not a multi-county region of the state, and the “wine country” is not a regional definition.

The Bay area consists of counties that border the Bay: Marin, Sonoma, Solano, Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Mateo and San Francisco. I’m sorry no one ever came up with a better name for the region than a name that contains the word “area.” However, most people who have an understanding of California geography know what is meant by the phrase “Bay Area,” and the only ones who call it Northern California are people who don’t get out of Southern California very much.

Wow. Well I grew up in Southern California and have lived for 15 years in Northern California, and worked in the Assembly, the Senate, a Congressional office, and been employed on several statewide campaigns (a statewide initiative, and campaigns for Governor and President) so what would I know about California geography?
