The various bacteria than CAN digest oil are likely able to metabolize a wide array of hydrocarbons.
I guess this ‘discovery’ was “unexpected” just like all the jobs, economic and weather news as well ...

Well that's interesting. Last week, in the article plastered all over the front pages and featured in the MSM scientists claimed a 25 mile "plume" (that can't be seen with the naked eye or noticed when swimming through it) that was NOT being consumed by bacteria.
Guess my bravo sierra detector was right again.

They’ve been using bugs to clean up gas station “deposits” in our area....for years.

“researchers led by Terry Hazen at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory”
Before buying into this finding lock, stock and barrel, I’d like to know the political leanings of the authors of the study, then look for peer review. Given what’s been done to science by political pressure and agendas, absolutely nothing can be taken any longer at face value.

Wow, the reporting of actual science. This is just too new to me. I feel weird reading it.
Can't we just all go back to the "environmental disaster" claims? It's much easier and more fun than the study of the earth and how it protects itself.

Berkely discover it? HA! Enter NRDC and their trial lawyers to really clean up. It’s all such a rip-off it really pisses me off. NRDC and Fenton Communications have being doing this since their “Apple Scare” scam.

Boy I hope this works! I hear there’s a real fear now that all the oil may settle on the sea floor and perhaps sink deeply into the earth.

The same one that was newly discovered eating oil in the 1970s.
Who knows when it will be newly discovered again.
