Right. People don't seem to realize that we live in an interglacial epoch. Cattle survive in large parts of the U.S. today only because people stockpile hay to feed them through the winter.

The Norse were an agricultural people. Had they adopted the hunter-gatherer culture of their Inuit neighbors, they might have survived the Little Ice Age.
