Cancun, Mexico - Bolivian President Evo Morales called Thursday to save the Kyoto Protocol and to create an international climate justice tribunal.
'The planet is wounded,' Morales, Bolivia's first president of indigenous descent, said in Mexico's Caribbean resort city of Cancun.
'We have an enormous responsibility with life and with humanity,' he told the UN Climate Conference in a 20-minute speech.
Morales asked industrialized nations to approve a second round of commitments to the Kyoto Protocol, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions after 2012.
'If we send the Kyoto Protocol to the bin, we will be responsible for 'ecocide,' and thus for genocide, because we would be attacking humanity as a whole,' he said.
Morales called delegates to discuss not just the effects of climate change, but also its consequences, which he blamed on capitalism.
'We have the obligation to change those policies,' he said.

Castro and Chavez’s big buddy -—ping!

Its about wealth redistribution. That’s what the UN is really discussing. Climate change is a scam - there is no scientific basis to it. But it has made a fortune for political hucksters and bureaucrats.

Enviros are watermelons. Green on the outside. Red on the inside. It’s always been about government control of the economy.

The UN needs to be neutered immediately.
It’s nothing but a forum for despots.

This one is definitely red on the inside, and in bed with Hugo Chavez.

The fascist commie dictators are coming for what little money we’ve got left. It’s all part of the Communists’ “hope and change” agenda.

Enviros are watermelons. Green on the outside. Red on the inside. I won't even ask what the black seeds in the middle represent, but I will say that the last time I heard someone talking about 'representing' he was standing outside a liquor passing around a forty.

I need to quit spending some much time on Free Republic and read to the end of a small pile of books I have picked up over the last year.

I have similar feelings now that I am officially retired and will be getting SS later this month. But E. You have been great in all you have published here for a long time.
So I for one applaud your many postings of things of substance, that really should get the eyes of all.
Choose to slow down and just ping as you see fit. You don't have to feel like the things many here feel important will fall through the cracks.
Others will pick up the slack. We have such a diverse membership. So many willing to post things after they have read elsewhere of things and versions of issues we mostly feel are important.
Take some time to relax and catch up on the books and other things. If you still feel driven to publish new articles then so much the better. But don't feel obligated. This site will go on, and distribute tons of important info to it's membership and those that on the sideline benefit from.
Perhaps an experiment. See how many things you would post will still be posted if you where to slow down. Most here know the score. You should not feel you are letting anyone down. Do have a great upcoming day. George
