Think of it like receiving stolen good. The Pfc stole the documents from a diplomatic bag which is literally US SOVEREIGN PROPERTY. Like stealing from the White House then this guy takes possession of what he knows are classified and sensitive materials. Not only is that conversion (theft) it's a literal attack against our interests and security. It may result in folks losing their lives. What do we do to those folks overseas who cause our friends and our personnel to die? We send a Predator and a HELLFIRE to communicate our displeasure.

Are any of the documents he got actually classified? I thought it was all just embassy cables. Perhaps we do send the Predator but that’s not the Death Penalty in the traditional sense of the term. :)
