Bin Laden threatens France in new message

l-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden called on France to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan in exchange for releasing French hostages being held by affiliates of the extremist group, according to a new audio message broadcast on an Arabic news channel Friday.
"The exit of your hostages out of the hands of our brothers depends on the exit of your troops from Afghanistan," bin Laden said in the message broadcast by al-Jazeera.
Bin Laden reminded the French people of President Nicolas Sarkozy's refusal in November to withdraw the French troops from Afghanistan and to negotiate with al-Qaida over the hostages.

I enjoy France-bashing as much as the next guy, but in the realm of standing up to Islamist blackmail it seems that France deserves at least some credit (ban on hijab, for example)...

All said and done, never underestimate the French. True, Patton would have prefered to have French troops in front of him instead of behind him, only don’t piss them off.

Audio is probably easy to fake. Video would have taken more work. We never see UBL video - just audio.

I remember a certain party who kept calling the prior administration inept since they hadn't caught OBL.

Bin Laden didn’t survive Tora Bora in 2001. He has been dead for a decade now. The ISI knows it, the CIA knows it, our government knows it, Benazir Bhutto knows it.
I don't think Benazir Bhutto knows much these days, considering she's been dead for three years.
