I remember watching a show on the Pinatubo eruption, they knew they were in trouble when they started losing all the data feeds to their sensors - a rolling black out, coming towards their location.

One of the USGS scientists looks at the AF General and says, "General, I hope you have some jam in your pockets, because we are about to be toast!"

Really good show. Everybody made it out ok but they had to move.

No repeats, I hope.

I remember the Mount Pinatubo eruption back in 1991. I was on the USS Peleliu when we sailed into Subic Bay Naval Base and seeing it covered in huge piles of volcanic ash. Many of the buildings collapsed due to the amount of ash.
