Nancy Reagan PRAISES Obama
TMZ ^ | 03/01/2011 | TMZ Staff

Barack Obama has at least ONE famous Republican supporter ... Nancy Reagan.

Nancy Reagan

The former First Lady of the United States was leaving Spago with her Secret Service team yesterday when a paparazzo asked, "How do you think Obama's doing now?"

Reagan simply replied, "He's doing well."

Obama recently announced that he read a book on Ronald ... we're guessing it scored him a few points with the Gipper's wife.

I can hardly wait to hear what Hillery! has to say
when she’s the same age.

“President Palin? Oh, she’s doing well.” I doubt it.

She was just being a classy and old lady, not some spiteful thing like the Mooching one.

Nancy comes from a generation where people were taught to respect the office, if not necessarily the man.

That’s all she’s doing here.

What did you expect her to say?

Something along the lines, "The world is changing so fast, only history will be able to tell... I wish him well."

Talk about a misleading headline!

The "mainstream" US media is in full hero-worship mode. When do we all have to start doing the "loyalty dance?"

"He's doing well."

Nancy is still a sharp lady, and she probably said what she meant. She hasn't missed the fact that the Obamster:

-Vacations a week out of every month.
-Plays golf a couple times a week.
-Has his own personal trainer flown in.
-Has more wild parties at the WH than most previous presidents.
-Eats really well (kobe beef, etc).
-Sends his kids to private school.
-Basically refuses to work and still gets paid.

I'd say that's "doing well"...

Senility and fear of death is a terrible thing.

Come’on man, a decent person doesn’t talk to a 90 year old woman that way.

(We’ll have to wait another 30 years for Hillary to age to see if I still have the same sentiment.)

“What did you expect her to say?”

How about quoting her husband: “Concentrated power has always been the enemy of liberty.”

Obama is an excellent politician; doesn't make him a leader. In this era, I'd be insulted being told I was a good politician. Just means you spend all your time playing to all sides: no vision and indecisive.

"Not exactly high praise, in my book. "

It is lukewarm indeed, but a praise nonetheless. In the very least, it is an approval. She could've said, "Like many other people, he had some successes and some failures; I wish him well." That would be gracious without approval or praise, whether mild or strong.

I don't think, however, that we should hold her to regular standards: she is quite elderly and has the right to be less than quick on her feet. I just regret the exploitation of this little phrase by the Left and the confusion it will amplify in the heads of those ubiquitous independent voters.

I see absolutely no reason to savage an elderly First Lady for delivering an effective cutaway line.

I hate it when the left tries to trot out Nancy Reagan to support them.

She’s 89 years old. I don’t expect to live that long, but if I do, I’ll be thrilled if I can remember my own name.
