As far as I know, they did not donate a dime to Harry Reid's campaign last year.

Per Chris Cox, the NRA gave Reid $5,000 for his 2010 primary.

I don't like it, but I doubt that 5,000 was the make or break part of his campaign. They did not pour money into his campaign or even endorse him as some on here would have you believe. He is the speaker of the house who is decent on gun rights. Hence the small donation. The NRA is a one issue organization. Ask yourself this, without Harry Reid do we get the pro gun bills like carry in national parks or transportation of weapons on trains passed? Probably not.

They did not really support him, but they did not actively campaign against him either. If the NRA did not support Democrats who support gun rights, they would not be as powerful as they are today.
