"It is with great wonderment and sadness that we listened to your May 10 speech on immigration issues. All of the joking about moats and alligators cut residents of Portal, AZ, to the core as we sheltered with friends or at a Red Cross evacuation site, to survive a terrible fire that still threatens our lives and property, as well as our ecotourism-based economy," the letter reads.
[Obama]..."We have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they supported broader reform as long as we got serious about enforcement. All the stuff they asked for, we've done," the president said.
"But even though we've answered these concerns, I've got to say I suspect there are still going to be some who are trying to move the goal posts on us one more time. You know, they said we needed to triple the Border Patrol. Or now they're going to say we need to quadruple the Border Patrol. Or they'll want a higher fence. Maybe they'll need a moat. Maybe they want alligators in the moat. They'll never be satisfied,"
....Cochise County, Ariz., Sheriff Larry Dever, who penned an op-ed in The New York Times Friday describing the plight of border residents, told FoxNews.com that the petition is a plea for the administration to take a closer look at the hardships they are suffering.
"These people are not overreacting. What they suggest in letter is very deep part of their belief system based on their experience and their experience has been horrific -- they see human smuggling and drug trafficking, they sit on their porch and watch people walk through, they've had their homes burglarized," Dever said.

There is no river between Arizona and Mexico to create a natural obstacle to illegal immigration, drug trafficking and human smuggling, and our county is a major corridor for all these. At best, illegal aliens and smugglers trespass, damage ranchers’ land, steal water and food and start fires. At worst, people who have come here hoping for freedom and opportunity are raped or abandoned by smugglers and left to die in the desert.
Nor are the migrants the only victims. Just over a year ago, while officials at the Department of Homeland Security were declaring they had secured “operational control” of most of the southern Arizona border, my friend Robert N. Krentz Jr., a local rancher, was murdered, most likely by drug smugglers.
The people of Cochise County support the state’s immigration law because we want this violence to end. Understandably, we get frustrated and disheartened when the White House, which has failed to secure the border for generations, sues us for trying to fill the legal vacuum. [end excerpt]
It is incredibly naive to think that a politician who gathers benefit from alien invaders is going to stop the invasion. Especially a politician that dislikes, to the point of hatred, a large portion of the native population stupid enough to elect him. Too many votes and too much drug money coming over the border.

I have seen the report. The Mexicans are not only invading our country but are now starting to impose their will on our domestic policy. We are becoming a conquered demographic(I am coming to believe that the term “People” may no longer be applicable to Euro-Americans.).
Obama wants the Hispanic vote.
He does not give a S**T about the residents on the Border States. They are few the Hispanics are many.
What were the residents of Arizona thinking when they sent John Mccain, Obama’s butt boy back to the Senate.

Response: I guess people were so mad at Bush that there was an overreaction. In addition, he has a large bloc of minority voters and is willing to have his followers engage in wholesale fraud.
