Washington, May 15 (ANI): Taliban leaders and wealthy Arab supporters often visited Osama bin Laden without endangering their safety in Abbottabad, Pakistan, documents and computer files seized from his compound revealed. The Telegraph quoted an Afghan Taliban commander as saying that bin laden had direct contact with his followers. Western intelligence chiefs had earlier thought that bin Laden's contact with the outside world was conducted via messages on memory sticks, but recent revelations depict a different story altogether. The commander also said when he last saw the terror leader in Abbottabad two years ago, he seemed healthy and well briefed on recent developments, but concerned about his safety and money. He also said bin Laden had admitted that he had to continue meeting top aides because so many senior lieutenants had been captured or killed. "He said he had no choice but to be active and meet people, despite the security risks. He was meeting with other top al-Qaeda leaders who could get access to Abbottabad without endangering their safety," the Taliban leader said. The report is poised to focus attention yet again on how bin Laden managed to live apparently undetected by the Pakistani authorities for several years in a garrison town, less than a mile from the country's top military academy. Understood and no arguement from me. My ‘takeaway’ from this article is that India is our friend, Pakistan is not.
Your right, as far as I can tell. Indian’s have the greatest promise in that area, by far. They remind me of Americans. They’re religion is a mess as is ours.
My ‘takeaway’ from this article is that it is pretty scary that he was so well respected and the people meeting him were so dedicated that NO ONE betrayed him. It took an accidental phone call from a trusted aide to bring him down.
When I went to the continuation on the India source, I also found this interesting update on Gadaffi’s illusions. I wonder what he is smoking? Like the rebels will ever allow him to stay in Libya in retirement!!
“.Tripoli, May 15 (ANI): Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi wants to ‘lead a dignified life’ by making a safe exit from public life, which he thinks will bring an end to NATO strikes on his country.
The Guardian quoted Libyan officials as saying that Gaddafi plans to retire to a godfather-like role in the nation he has ruled for over 40 years and then allow institutions to grow that will eventually replace his hold on power. “But he isn’t going to run away to Venezuela. He wants to move to the background and lead a dignified life. He himself has said he wants to be like the Japanese emperor, or Castro,” an official said.
The paper quoted another official as saying that Gaddafi “knows and we know that Libya doesn’t have a future through imposing his cult of personality on the people and the world. There is no question that the country needs reforms, many reforms.” The revelation came after NATO jets struck the dictator’s compound yet again on Friday, hours after he taunted European leaders saying he is in a place that ‘coward crusaders’ cannot detect.
“I tell the coward crusaders - I live in a place where you can’t get to me. I live in the hearts of millions,” Gaddafi had said in a newly released audio recording. Referring to the previous NATO attack on his Bab al-Aziziya compound in Tripoli, the Libyan dictator was heard saying in the audio recording that lasted over a minute that many people “driven by their love for me put in many calls to check on my well-being after they heard of the cowardly missile attack of the crusaders on Bab al-Aziziya last Thursday, May 12.” (ANI)

I’ve found that India’s news outlets are the best for reporting on Middle East terrorism and what’s going on on that side of the world. The western media is more concerned about royal weddings and Lady Gaga.
