It's already moving forward pretty fast and decreasing in intensity. Passing to south puts the plant in the safe semi-circle with the wind speeds being decreased by the considerable forward motion. I guess it could make things miserable for a few hours but in all likelihood it's not going to be anywhere near catastrophic.
