Nabro, has no recorded eruption and is a very large Strato-type volcano. This swarm is encircling the mountain and certainly appears to be volcanic in nature, but it is early. If it does blow, this could be a type that is season changing. Interesting times...certainly warrants attention!

Good Grief!! I didn’t know there was a mountain there.
I do know that Mt. Shasta....Northern California...has hot water coming out of the top of it....but has for many years.
Mt. Lassen, within sight of Mt. Shasta, erupted in 1917 and 1919...could be off by a few years.

Checking it out on Google Earth. By the looks of that region I doubt there’s some guy taking it in with an iPhone. The caldera is plainly visible - actually two of them.

Looking around the area on Google Earth shows many different volcanoes in the immediate area:
Asseb, Dubbi, Afdera, Alayta, Dabbahu, Ale Bagu, Hayli Gubbi, Erta Ale, Borale Ale, Alu, and Gada Ale to name a few.

Age slows my memory but I do recall a long running series of almost daily 4.5+ tremors in the Gulf of Aden (at a plate edge) that recently tapered off.

For reference: The image below shows 3 volcanos from an altitude of approximately 40,000 feet. The top one is Tambora and is considered the largest known erupted volcano in the history of the world. The bottom one is Mt. St Helens. The middle one is Nabro in Africa, the one that may be erupting right now!
