These sky watchers don’t have the slightest idea of what is actually occuring. It’s simply an unending diary of events with no sound conclusions because there are too many unknowns.
If you read the article, you will learn that the solar jet stream was used to accurately predict Cycle 24, which came in much later and weaker than most other sources, including NASA, anticipated. By now, the stream for the next cycle should be well underway. It isn't.
However, ham radio operators know that the more sunspots, the better the long distance communication. We count on that 11 year cycle. I may have 3 left in my life. I will be ticked off if they all have wimpy peaks like this one.
