MSNBC suspends Mark Halperin for Obama comments
MSNBC Morning Joe Blog ^ | June 30, 2011 | MSNBC Morning Joe Blog

Posted on 06/30/2011 8:07:01 AM PDT by John W

Statement from MSNBC: Mark Halperin's comments this morning were completely inappropriate and unacceptable. We apologize to the President, The White House and all of our viewers. We strive for a high level of discourse and comments like these have no place on our air. Therefore, Mark will be suspended indefinitely from his role as an analyst.

Statement from Mark Halperin: I completely agree with everything in MSNBC’s statement about my remark. I believe that the step they are taking in response is totally appropriate.

Again, I want to offer a heartfelt and profound apology to the President, to my MSNBC colleagues, and to the viewers. My remark was unacceptable, and I deeply regret it.

He'd have gotten a raise for saying something similar about Palin or some other actual conservative. Yes, well Sarah Palin is not the POTUS (yet?). So suppose Sarah Palin becomes President. Will similar standards apply?

what would have happened if he had done this a few years ago after a W presser? Received an award?

Suspended for telling the truth.

Yup, and that's a no no on MSNBC.

He should have said something vulgar about Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachman instead. That would get him a raise instead of a suspension.

The Eight Commandments of the Left:

I Thou shalt create an illusion of invulnerability shared by most members to foster excessive optimism and encourage extreme risks taking

II Thou shall not allow any member to question the group’s inherent morality, instead members shall be encouraged to ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions

III Thou shalt promote collective efforts to rationalize in order to discount warnings, or other information that might lead members to reconsider their assumptions before they recommit themselves to their assumptions

IV Thou shalt reinforce stereotyped views of enemy leaders as too evil to warrant genuine attempts to negotiate, or as too weak and stupid to counter whatever risky attempts are made to defeat their purpose

V Thou shalt self-censor any deviation from the apparent group consensus, inclining each member to minimize the importance of their doubts and counterarguments

VI Thou shalt create and maintain a shared illusion of unanimity concerning judgement conforming to the majority view

VII Thou shalt apply direct pressure on any member who expresses strong arguments against any of the group’s stereotypes, illusions, or commitments, making clear that this type of dissent is contrary to what is expected of all loyal members

VIII Thou shalt appoint mindguards to protect the group from adverse information that might shatter their shared complacency about the effectiveness and morality of their decisions

When I was younger, “dick” was simply slang for “detective”. My father-in-law’s pop actually quit the NYPD to become a dick in the 1930’s. The pay was better.

Team Obama watches Morning Joe and texts Mika her talking points all show long. If you watch, you can see Mika constantly looking down at her BalckBerry to get talking points if the show starts to break bad towards Barry.

After I saw Halperin make that comment, I knew he would be out before the day was through. Barry has a thin skin, and if some FOX news commentator would have said this, they would have immediatley played the race card and demanded the person be fired.

Since this happened on the Obama love channel, they had to settle for a suspension and hope the rest of the sycophants on PMS_NBC got the message, “Dissent will not be tolerated, and NOBODY can diss ‘The One’ and get away with it.

He spoke truth to the wrong power. If only it had been a Republican president, he’d get by with one of those weasely, ‘I’m sorry that some hyper-sensitive person got offended’ maneuvers.

“The media sucks, I listened to the “press’ laughing as Obama mocked the GOP Congress. They are the reporters who should be suspended.”

As I wrote yesterday, the media are our mortal enemies. We should never forget this!

Except when the subject is Sarah Palin.

I should think that only Mooch-elle and that Obambi’s boyfriend that is squirreled away in the Virgin Islands would know if the asscrack is a dick.

I think the whole thing’s a riot. And I’m sure there’ll be thousands of apologies from those idiots on the show to Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann for their numerous slanders over the years . . . (crickets)

Hmmmm.... let me see if I can fix this. Mark Halperin's comments this morning about the president being a DICK were completely inappropriate and unacceptable. Therefore, Mark will be suspended indefinitely from his role as a DICK analyst. Statement from Mark Halperin: I completely agree with everything in MSNBC’s statement about my DICK remark. I believe that the step they are taking in response to the DICK comment is totally appropriate. Again, I want to offer a heartfelt and profound apology to President DICK, to my DICKY MSNBC colleagues, and to the three DICKY viewers. My DICK remark was unacceptable, and I deeply regret it. MSNBC would neither confirm nor deny that former Rep. Anthony Weiner will replace Halperin.
