NOAA is currently redefining sunspecks as actual sunspots to discredit the recurring Dalton Minimum approaching:

“NOAA inflating sunspot counts

A Dalton Minimum could sneak up on us announced

15 Jul 11 - “NOAA is inflating their Sunspot count by counting specks,” says reader Al Morris. “To get a more scientific count that compares to the old Wolf Sunspot number please review the Landscheidt website.”

http://www.landscheidt.info/?q=node/50

A brief history on the evolution of the sunspot count

Johann Rudolf Wolf, born in 1816, reconstructed the sunspot record back to 1749 using the geomagnetic record as his baseline. Wolf used this background scale to adjust the values taken before 1847 to align with his count. His reconstruction is backed up by the Group Sunspot Number which shows very similar cycles during the Dalton Minimum. The depth of the Dalton Minimum is beyond question.

In the 1880s, Wolf’s successor, Wolfer, began counting all small spots and pores and recorded each umbral area within a penumbra. Because this differed from the Wolf method, Wolfer introduced a reduction factor to his figures in order to align with Wolf.

Modern counting methods are different.

In essence, NOAA does not use Wolfer’s reduction factor, which means that they count the small spots and pores that Wolf did not count.

This means that a Dalton Minimum or Maunder Minimum could very well sneak up on us announced.

Today, 15 July 2011, the NOAA count shows five sunspots whereas the The Layman’s Sunspot Count on the Landscheidt website shows only three.

I agree with Al Morris. I think The Layman’s Sunspot Count will give us a better comparison with past history, so that’s what I’ll use from now on.

We are going to need coal for heat in the winter, with cooler falls and springs than in the past, just as Obama, the EPA are reducing our use of coal.

Forget about the climate hoax, the politics, the extortion of federal funds to perpetuate fraud.

Simply close down these agencies due to the debt limit crisis.

A lot of stuff is instantly fixed that way, including the climate.

What amazes me is how few people realize that liberals use the difference between summer and winter as “proof” that man made global warming is a reality.

In his 2006 comedy “An inconvenient truth”, societal leech and sexual deviant Al Gore used this method quite a few times. He would show a mountain for example in the winter, then the same mountain in the summer, then claim the visual difference was because of man made Global warming.

He is literally using change of seasons as proof, and people don’t question it because they cannot believe a person that gets so much serious attention could be so insane.

approaching August, Sacramento weather remains 15 degrees below normal, and there’s still snow up the hill. My tomatoes and peppers could use a heat-lamp but the good news is my A/C bill is going to be practically zero this (and last) month.

Global warming (nature made) is a fact (melted several miles thick glaciers on top of Chicagoland after last ice age).

Man made global warming is unproven and likely a big hoax as an excuse for cap & trade (= higher taxes).

Global warming finally came to my neighborhood about a month ago, high 90s and a few triple digit days with nothing more than a rare sprinkle of water for the past couple of months. Forest fires have swamped us with smoke going on a month now. I have to say that I’ll be glad when the ice age starts in another couple of months.

I just keep wondering how much carbon gas these fires are putting into the atmosphere. It’s going to get blamed on us.

Australian PM Julia Gillard is implementing a carbon tax in Australia despite promises not to do so during the last election. The Aussis are almost completely dependent on coal to generate their electricity and my Aussi brother-in-law reports that the population is in an uproar. The earliest an election can be called is 18 months by which time Gillard’s carbon tax will be killing the Australian economy.
