I use a great little utility called EQuake3D.exe.
You can download it for free. It gives you a visual of realtime earthquake data (from the USGS) mapped to a rotatable globe.

Ive been checking the USGS earthquake site on a daily basis for years You and me both! Living in Los Angeles,I must check for activity here locally and world wide about 20-30 times a day...
