Here in Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, west of Charlottesville, we just had another earthquake, 2 minutes ago. Not as strong as the 5.9 quake earlier this week.

Also felt it here in Northern Virginia. Just a brief rattle, but it worried the cats.

It started abruptly, and shook the house pretty vigorously - I was up on the 3rd floor, where the shake sensation is amplified.

Felt it in Powhatan, VA. The cats are NOT happy.

Is that at USGS? Do you have a link? I can only see a map, but not that stuff. It woke us up here near Culpeper.

A geologist explained the difference in sedimentary rock and the hard in place rock. The limestone layer would simply roll as that of sand on the beach.

Yep. Felt it here too (Northern VA); cats vanished. Spent part of the day repairing minor roof damage from yesterday so jumped up immediately.
