PALMETTO - Authorities in Manatee County are on the lookout for at least two gunmen who shot up a Palmetto nightclub early Saturday morning.
Two people – 25-year-old Trayon Goff of Palmetto and 38-year-old Gwenette Matthews of Bradenton - were killed and 22 others injured.
According to a Palmetto Police Department report, the gunmen opened fire on a crow of people standing outside of Club Elite at 704 10th St. West at approximately 12:30 am. Goff died outside of the club and Matthew was inside investigators say.

Cops are still looking for the shooters. Here are the victims:
The fatalities were Goff, who witnesses said was shot repeatedly, and Gwenette Matthews, 38, of Bradenton. Several more victims remain hospitalized, one in critical condition.
Matthews was listed as a certified nurse assistant. Goff, of Palmetto, had three children. His sister Nikita said he had recently fallen into the “street life.”

There's a joint in Pasco County, Florida, that's called a "Nightclub".
Let me tell you, it's no Ciro's, Elaine's or the Stork Club. It's a roof fastened to corrugated metal walls on top of a parking lot slab.
It's not "cafe society", either. It's riff-raff society and you wear bullet-proof vests, not tuxedos. You can't say "hold muh beer" 'cause you'll never see it again.
Today, you can call any saloon a "nightclub" and no one cares. The late Sherman Billingsley must be turning over in his buried $100-bill tips .

It doesn't appear that this fellow was on food stamps. He had a perfectly good job as a drug dealer. However, as sometimes happens with drug dealers, other drug dealers drove by and pumped him full of bullets. They were not especially careful about doing it, either, since they hit about two dozen other people while turning Trayon there into swiss cheese.
