Thank you. I thought I was going to have to say it.
“This sounds hugh and series...what can I do to help!”
If this is the precursor of a solar storm on the order of the 1859 Carrington Event ... nothing.
Thanks for the ping Civ.
Ah, the classic Trek plot device.
Someday that darn sun is going to be the death of all of us.
There’s probably going to be aurora’s tonight. Of course...we’re under thick cloud cover.
MMSA ????
Man made sun anomaly??
HHhhmmmm, I wonder if I might get a grant to investigate the correlation between these solar events and man made activities of some kind.
“This sounds hugh and series.”
Nah! It’s mute and irrevalunt!
But Al Gore will fix it. OMG, this just gave him another avenue to exploit.

The question is,do we end up back in time at the OK Corral,in an alternate universe where Spock has a beard or fighting to the death with collars on our necks while unseen aliens bid on us. We should find out in the next few days.
Sunspot 1302 has been rapidly growing and is crackling with energy. The big disturbance is moving across the face of the sun and will be directly aimed at us by around Wednesday or so. These are not good tidings.
Should the 1859 Carrington Event be repeated, the damage to electronics could be devastating. The power grid, feeding electricity into your house, would be the first to go and there aren’t enough replacement parts to fix it.
But you won’t know about any of this. Once the power grid goes down, so does your only source of outside information. There might be a few radio stations still broadcasting ... at least for a few days, until their generators run dry.
And we won’t talk about what happens if the magnetic storm fries the onboard computers in the trucks that resupply your local supermarket. Better to skip that item entirely.
Still laughing?
You mean I have to wait 2 more days for the End of the World?
Will there be a big party tomorrow?
