Panetta takes pulse in Middle East

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is in the Middle East to assess Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts and also take the temperature of Egypt.

Panetta left Sunday on his trip, which also will take him to Brussels, where he’ll meet with NATO defense ministers. First, Panetta is sitting down with Israeli and Palestinian leaders.

"There's not much question in my mind that they maintain that (military) edge," he told reporters, the AP reported. "But the question you have to ask: Is it enough to maintain a military edge if you're isolating yourself in the diplomatic arena?

If he wants a pulse in Middle East, then sit in a house or in a schoolyard in Ashdod, Ashkelon or Sderot while rockets fall all around you. Say you have circled your wagons and a billion plus Indians have you surrounded and want to scalp every man, woman and child that lives in Israel. How did that work out for the 7th Calvary, General Custer? I would rather die fighting than surrender one inch of my homeland!

I fail to understand the enemy that has infiltrated our own Government. No doubt Panetta was given political cover and moved to the Pentagon where the dark forces alligned to the fraud in the Oval Office can keep close eye on Leon. But it defies all reason that in a nation established a Christian nation (as America was) to have people who profess to be Christian - claim that we dare not even symbolically recognize Jerusalem as Capitol of Israel —When History dictates an irreconcilable fact that Jerusalem is the Capitol of Israel both in ancient time—and since a nation was (recognized) in a day. (1948) When O sends Leo the boots and blankets supply man to tell Israel that they isolate themselves by not blindly walking into every ambush set by the enemy. I detest this current Administration.Those who would divide Israel — Who cry Peace Peace —but there is no Peace. Those who say Israel must be subject to those who plot her destruction will soon enough discover what it means to rebel against the Lord of Hosts. But it is such a weary some trial watching it play out.
