Michael Bloomberg: Occupy Wall Street is trying to destroy jobs (Just Lazy Communist Slugs)

The New York mayor, Michael Bloomberg, has accused the Occupy Wall Street protesters of trying to destroy jobs in the city.

In his weekly radio show, Bloomberg said the protests against the city's financial services were "not productive" given the importance of the sector to the local economy.

"What they're trying to do is take the jobs away from people working in this city," he said.

"If the jobs they are trying to get rid of in this city – the people that work in finance, which is a big part of our economy – go away, we're not going to have any money to pay our municipal employees or clean our parks or anything else."

“...we're not going to have any money to pay our municipal employees...”

An interesting phrase. But, what does it really mean?

IMHO it translates as “I will not get reelected if I can not pay the salaries of the city's municipal employees.”

I read on these pages shortly I started commenting that the untold secret of large governments is the elected leaders that are supposed to be responsible to the electorate (aka tax payers) are almost immediately co-opted by the “people working for them”. The politician, either temporary or professional, learns he must first placate the workers below him if he wants to accomplish anything. “Anything” is defined as everything from reelection to significant reforms.

We have seen this in Washington DC, it has been openly admitted to in New York City, and its true where I live in NW Florida.

Someone should tell the Mayor to verify the documentation of paid demonstrators as well as the contributing sponsors. NYC needs all the tax-revenue it can get!

Bloomberg can't run again. Unless he declares himself Emperor, which I wouldn't put past him.

Hey Michael, there is something you can do... don’t these kinds of things require a permit? can’t you arrest people for disturbing the peace? You certainly would if these were Christians protesting abortion, or people protesting the building of a Mosque at ground zero... have you no testicular fortitude? You’re a small, small man sir, if you allow this unchallenged. You have a city to look after, peoples’ jobs are on the line. This group is defecating all over you. Hell dude, make a curfew, call out the national guard. Sure people have a right to protest, but no one has the right to infringe on other peoples’ rights to pursue their daily lives, no one. If you’re a real leader and executive of the “greatest” city on earth, dooo something! Sheesh!!

Billionaire Mikey should go stick his butt in the air and pray to his Victory Mosque god.

I don’t think it was a great idea for bigot Mikey to ban the Judeo-Christian God from the 911 remberance services. There are things broken in this society that money can’t fix. But Mikey doesn’t know this. It is all materialism and politically correct propaganda to him.

If he can’t appeal to the mob’s love of money (”You are hurting the ECONOMY!”), he has no more to offer.

Mr. Mayor, didn’t you basically predict this just a month ago? And in so predicting, didn’t you basically invite this?

don’t these kinds of things require a permit?

For Tea Partiers and any other group, yes, but not for these malcontent whiners. In loony Portland, they've been camped out since Thursday without a permit. They also marched on Thursday with no permit.,

The Portland Marathon is on today, and the protestors are graciously temporarily moving from the park where they're squatting so that the marathoners can have access, but they're planning to return after the last marathoner goes through the area.

The pedophile mayor of Portland gave them support the other day, but he's been strangely silent ever since.

BLOOMBERG is the one destroying jobs. While he fritters away hundreds of millions of dollars on useless educational "consultants", City Time ($740 million), $363 million for NYCAPS, numerous no-bid contracts, bum-magnet parks in Manhattan, etc., he has closed firehouses, added many layers of administrators in City agencies, wasted untold millions on technology that does not work, just laid off 700 school workers and has driven hundreds of devoted veteran teachers out of the school systemto be replaced by newbies still wet from their mother's womb, who won't get tenure and who will leave in a year or two. BLOOMBERG, may he rot in Hell, is responsible for so very many jobs being lost and not the union, for those of you who have a heavy hand on the anti-union button here.

As I understand it, these “protesters” are squatters on private property. They have refused to obey the posted rules and have become a health and safety issue. How about NYC coming in and removing them (by force if necessary) to Riker’s Island where they can be with REAL thugs and killers? It would be fun to take bets on how long these spoiled brats would survive in a real world prison.

Hat tip to thouworm. The plot thickens, doesn’t it? The little Emperor really wants that cabinet position, doesn’t he? Heaven help the U.S. if (a) Obama gets a second term (don’t even wanna THINK about that horror!) and (b) he appoints the Destructor-of-Lives in Chief in a cabinet position. The little twerp bought his illegal third term as Mayor of NYC and he’s trying to buy himself a cabinet position.

BTW, don’t forget his heavy lobbying to get gay marriage legalized in NY, to get the Ground Zero mosque built, etc. And gee, he just happened to have opened a branch of his business in Dubai—what a coincidence with his support for the mosque.
