Police arrest 100 in Occupy Boston sweep

Defiant Occupy Boston protesters were arrested and charged with unlawful assembly and being in a public park after hours in a massive, early morning crackdown at the protest group’s second tent city on the Rose Kennedy Greenway.

“It’s important that we gain control and make sure the rules are followed, “ said Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis, who was on site during the police action.

Someone needs to keep a running tally of arrests, etc. at Occupy rallies and compare them to Tea Party rallies.

Now the liberals will complain about police brutality. And so it goes. These people were just sitting there not bothering anyone. And out of nowhere, the police decided to start arresting people. The news reports have already been written. Peaceful protesters beaten up by thuggish cops...................

Why keep a running tally?

Number of arrests at Tea Party rallies: zero
Number of arrests at Occupy [..] rallies: more than zero

Any questions?

The article has some interesting facts, between the lines.

This was actually a SECOND encampment, not the original. As far as I can tell, the original encampment was not cleared.

And, the police are claiming they took action based on information from the first group:

“The group that was here for the first ten days was working very closely with us,” Davis said, “but they warned us yesterday morning that a new group, the anarchists, wanted to take control.”

The liberals had wanted to compare the Occupy Wall Street thing to the Tea Party. Nancy Pelosi has blessed them.

And haven’t you heard how violent and racist the Tea Party is???? (sarcasm)

So I’m sure many liberals will look for information to compare how many arrests happen at Tea Party events vs. Occupy Wall Street protests. (more sarcasm)

I wonder of anyone spit, referencing Nancy Pelosi’s ridiculous statement. She is “clueless,” referencing another dense assertion she made.

No, it didn't happen, at least not intentionally. There were multiple people with video cameras, including someone almost immediately behind the Congressman that originally claimed it.

Even the Congressman himself backed off on the claim, apparently after reviewing the videos from multiple angles. Pelosi should be ashamed of herself for repeating something that she knows has been disproved. But, Pelosi has never been known for any sense of shame.

It appears that one protester simply got a little exuberant, and forgot to "say it, not spray it":

I'm codswalloped that the authorities in the Peoples' Republik of Taxachusetts actually had the gumption and political will to close down the park and arrest the Improper Bostonians.

Meanwhile, over in New York City, the tool kommie kids and the professional radical cadre who control the NYC park continue to hold the city hostage, shutting off tourism, bankrupting nearby businesses, tieing up the entire city police and other law enforcement agencies....and generally, in great measure paralyzing the normal functions and economics of a major world city.

All this is going on while Mayor Booberg washes his hands of the whole situation by whining and pleading he "can't do a thing" because the occupiers are operating from private property.

"When Pontius Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd saying "I am innocent".

Some leaders rise to an occasion, others slink away like Bloomberg.....and his socialist counterpart, Obama, the Teflon president.

Number of arrests at Tea Party rallies: zero

We had an arrest at the TP rally I attended last year.

Granted, it was some liberal wackjob all dressed in black that rushed the stage shouting something about the Klan (either that he hated the Klan, or was posing as a member of the Klan. I couldn't tell, not that it matters).

Anyway, everyone ignored him, which was hilarious. Was like something out of a movie. Eventually, he migrated to the edge of the crowd and, seeking a different attention ploy, started shouting at/threatening a cop (I couldn't see this, only heard the commotion). The police responded, approximately, "OK, so you really, really want to get arrested? We'll oblige you." and, having nothing else to worry about at the demonstration, all landed on him like Roosevelt's Rough Riders.

He made A Bad Choice, IMHO. :-)

Earlier that afternoon, I was talking to a couple of the police officers standing near me. They really didn't have a whole lot to do, they were mostly standing around looking at the pretty girls. Anyway, I made the comment that it was "going to be a slow afternoon", or somesuch. Their reply? "Oh yeah, we love these Tea Parties. They leave the place better off than before they arrived." Considering that we were in the courthouse plaza, I could believe his statement.

I’m confused.

Aren’t the Commies among friends in Boston?

Golly, if they can’t safely “demonstrate” in the very belly of the Marxist beast, what is this world coming to?

Please come to Boston for the protests
I’m camping here with some hippies but they’re almost out of room
You can clear your bowels out on the sidewalk
By a café where I hope to be breaking windows soon
Please come to Boston
She said no, would you come to D.C.

And she said, hey protest boy, why don’t you and I get down
Boston ain’t your kind of town
The condom’s free and there ain’t nobody like me
I’m the number one fan of the man from Ha’ wa ii

Please come to New York with the snowfall
Our heads stuck up in our *ss so far that they just can’t be found
And throw-up freebie pizza on the sidewalk
And parrot the Marxist line all night till the people come around
Please come to New York
She said no, boy, would you come to D.C.

And she said, hey hippie boy, why do you bring me down?
New York ain’t your kind of town
The food is free and there ain’t nobody like me
I’m the number one fan of the man from Nai ro bi

Now this hipster’s head swirls ‘round and ‘round
And I doubt that it’s ever gonna stop
But of all the stuff I’ve lost or found
I want the stuff that I ain’t got
I still need to cling to
Politicians to bring to

Please come to The Bay to live on welfare
California life employed is just too hard to bear
I live in a house that’s paid for with some vouchers
And there’s some Liberal stars who will be dropping by
Livin’ on someone else’s dime
Please come to The Bay
She just said no, boy, won’t you come to D.C.

And she said, hey Marxist boy, here light another J
You ain’t cut out for life on the Bay
This weed ain’t free and there ain’t nobody like me
I’m the number one fan of the man from Nai ro bi

How nice that the first group has been respectful of law enforcement and very civilized about the whole thing. I have to give them that much credit.

I saw some of this on livestream on my computer last night. It was fun watching the cops breaking up the gang in the park. It was great fun. Geez, Boston accomplishes that which NYC can’t seem to bring themselves to do. That’s because Bloomberg himself via his wife has ties to the owners of the park where the demonstrators are located. Coward.
