Great historical analysis! I would argue that the OWS crowd can trace some of their lineage back even farther to the anti-banking populist outbursts of the 19th Century.

I believe these riots will flourish because we have a press that is sympathetic to them...

This is a sobering, and true, analysis of the effects unchecked liberalism has had on my generation.

During my four years at a supposedly religious college in the heart of Amish country, I watched helplessly as the Marxists on campus dismantled everything that made it great. The Bible quotation on the weekly calendar was replaced by a secular equivalent to keep from ‘offending’ anyone; a student who posted a hit list was shielded from identification by the administration and given a slap on the wrist; the fraternities pushed to end the campus alcohol ban against the wishes of the nearby townsfolk who didn’t want drunken students causing trouble. By the time I graduated, it was as if I had enrolled at a completely different place.

And I only ever met a single other student whose political beliefs compared to mine.

I can only shake my head in amazement as the Basket Weaving and French Lesbian Art History majors march the streets, forging the chains of their own enslavement link by link with every anti-capitalist slogan and threat of violence.

The country is not going to split up. Libs know darn well that without producers from the “evil right”, they don’t get their toys. Besides, it’s their nature to want to control as many people as possible.

I look at all these events and think: “I am so, so glad that I had the forethought to have no dogs in this fight.”

no its not...

Just look at the so called “extremists” on our side and honestly, you don’t need to look any further than freerepublic.

I would say that FR is probably on the cutting edge of whatever pool of people would be willing to go to war to defend their sovereignty from the government and collective. Take a look around, and you will mostly mild mannered people who would make great neighbors and good friends but when it comes to getting off their asses to do something they find distasteful (like committing violence against those that are shackling them) they shrink into cowardice and disguise it as some bull sh— sense of civility.

The future will be won by those who WANT it the most. They (the socialists) have and will continue to do EVERYTHING they can to win, including violence and atrocities. They will win because they will dare to win. We will lose because our cowardice will have it no other way.

It doesn’t have to be this way, but it would take a concerted, courageous and bold effort by those on our side to achieve our freedom. Frankly, Im not sure most of us have it in them to risk their lives, fortunes, honor. Face it, the “Tea party” sh-t was ALL most of us were willing to do.

We seem to be betting on some group of people to see that the “civility” of our side is much better than the “barbarians” of the left and then rebel against their lifelong indoctrination to support us. Unless everyone our side gives up that pipedream. To win, we are going to have to be willing to beat our adversary so the lengths we need to be willing to go to will be determined by how far the socialists are willing to go. When we resolve tobeat our freedom out of these f’ers there can be no limitations on how far we will go. I am not convinced that most on our side have the fortitude much less the desire to win.

...And this s part of the attitude I was talking about that dooms our side.

Too many actually listen to drivel like this and give it weight. Why? partly because t justifies their cowardice...

Those outbursts were the beginnings of the progressive party.

“I’m wondering if, 50 years from now, someone will be typing, “Fortunately WWI, WWII and, later, WWIII put these hate America bastards into near irrelevance.”

The danger is that, even with a WW, with Obozo at the helm with Reid and the $inate backing him, the progressives will continue to cause problems.

With the instant communication access, they will appear to be stronger than they are.

I don’t believe the OWS folks represent a large number even within their own generations. There are some disenchanted, perpetual protesters from the 80s, then there are the Ivy League educated kids who HAVE been fed a steady diet of socialism. Just like the quarter-million or so kids at Woodstock did not represent everyone in their generation, these kids don’t either.

But do they have the capability to hold onto the country when literally half of the population hates their guts? The southerners in the last engagement were a minority. The percentages are a lot closer now.
