He’s not alone.

Cain, Perry, Gingrich, well.....everyone but Bachmann, really......have called for “reasonable” or “humane” ways to deal with the “11 million illegals already here.” Every one of them wants non-deportation without amnesty for some of the illegals already here.

At least he actually talked about who he’d deport. Bachmann, too. This has got to be the first campaign we’ve actually seen that.

I tend to agree with Newt, a realistic view.

Lies. Cain has never said such a thing.

That’s good. I’m watching the rebroadcast now.

Bachmann is good on illegal immigration, and I would support her if she won the nomination, but I don't think you can say Herman Cain is bad on this issue. Romney, Perry, and now Gingrich have showed their stances on the issue, and I won't even vote for them against Obama if it comes down to that.

I want our borders secured before we start talking about what to do with the ones already here. Cain has a record of talking tough on the issue of illegal immigration, and actually taking it serious. It's just like his border fence “joke”, showed me he was serious about the issue even if he hadn't thought about the exact detail of getting the issue resolved. He's said he would be giving Arizona, and Alabama a medal for their anti-illegal immigration laws instead of suing them. Can you really imagine Romney, Perry, or Gingrich even saying that? Sheriff Joe Arpaio said he believed Cain would do something serious about the border. Cain also got the endorsement of former Conservative Congressman Tom Tancredo, who is known for his staunch anti-illegal immigration stances.

While I agree that Bachmann has it right on illegal immigration, I also think Cain is in that same category. That's why we have no excuse to nominate a candidate who's bad on this issue when we have at least two Conservatives who are right on this issue. While some people might say it's a bad strategic idea I wouldn't mind seeing them on the same ticket. I also think Cain should bring up the illegal immigration issue when he's being attacked for his foreign policy experience. He's right on the most important foreign policy issue that we're facing, and that dwarfs anything the others have done who are on the wrong side of illegal immigration. He could ask some tough questions when being attacked on this issue, considering he is among the very few who is thinking like the vast majority of U.S. citizens when it comes to this issues.

Why do you keep equating “reasonable” with amnesty? Reasonable means using sound judgement. A reasonable course of action on any issue can be “humane” or not. From a business standpoint (which is the philosophical approach Cain knows best) reasonable has much more to do with how practical an action is and/or how it affects the bottom line. It’s “reasonable” for a business that needs to dramatically cut expenses to let 100 workers go but I bet those getting pink slips wouldn’t consider it humane. In the case of Cain, every time he’s asked he says “not amnesty” when saying a “reasonable” course of action. How you extrapolate that into meaning he wants non deportation?

What is inhumane about sending someone home??? Heck you would think they would appreciate getting to go home.

Screw them all. Seriously i can stay home instead of going to wait on line to vote for someone that supports amnesty. Amnesty is supported by 2 groups. Hispanics (not all but most) and politicians (again, most not all). The majority of tax paying citizens on the other hand don’t support it.
Pandering weasels figure people will vote for them regardless so they make a play for the amnesty supporters.

non-deportation is rewarding them for breaking our laws. Might as well be amnesty if we aren't going to punish them.

In 2008 McCain said he would deport the estimated 2 million "criminal" illegal aliens "immediately" and give a pathway to earned citizenship (aka amnesty) to the rest.

I don’t know why they keep talking about “11 million” illegals already here.

It’s more like 30 million, and growing by the hour.
