Well, since the law hasn’t been enforced much, starting somewhere is a good start, no?.

No matter who is elected, there will be some sort of amnesty as with Reagan. The question will be how to prevent or deal with future illegals.

Everything that's ever mentioned that may have a real chance at stopping illegal immigration, and securing our border is considered inhuman these days. There is a reason words like this don't go over well with Conservatives. He's using it as if there have been several “inhumane” ideas brought up by other candidates as well, which is just another slap in the face to U.S. citizens. Is he talking about what Herman Cain said, that was then told by his opponents in a way to make it sounded like he wanted to kill illegal immigrants? That tough stance on illegal immigration is one of the reasons that helped him in his surge, because the majority of people agreed with him, and didn't fall for the slanderous way it was reported in contrast to what Cain actually said.

They lied to make it sound like Cain wanted to kill illegals by warning them about an electric fence. People can say what they want, but the majority of U.S. citizens wouldn't be concerned with a few illegals who took the time to actually try to cross a fence like that knowing the risk, got killed. Cain needs to get back to talking about illegal immigration, and using it against those like Gingrich who don't see the damage(or just don't care) it's causing to our nation. It's a foreign policy issue as well, and Cain could make them look like the fools they are if he countered some of their attacks against him with this issue that's been completely ignored, and allowed to run out of control despite U.S. citizens objections.

It's a bigger threat than Iran, but we call the corrupt government of Mexico a friend, when they sponsor illegal immigration into the United States causing a bigger threat than any Islamic terrorist State, or Organization, does when comes down to the actual destruction of our nation. That includes the number of deaths, and destruction, money-wise, when it comes to comparing the two. It's just we have too many people who pretend to be blind to the one that will cause our nations collapse. Does anyone really think a nation like Iran could bring an end to the United States easier than Mexico is through illegal immigration? Statistics have shown we will break up if it isn't stopped, and is allowed to progress the same as it has been.

Guys like Gingrich have a history of pandering to illegals, and do just enough to make it look like they are doing something significant to placate a few when in power, while in reality we are pandering to the corrupt Mexican government while the problem just keeps spiraling out of control. Gingrich just screwed up the issues he is correct on, by being wrong on one of the most important issues our nation's survival faces. If we can't nominate a candidate who's right on this issue, when we have a couple of good Conservative choices then we deserve Obama.

I agree. The status quo is untenable.
