Meteorologist on Climate Change: 'It's Raining Harder Out There' (Cantore, Weather Channel)

(CNSNews.com) – Meterologist Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel predicted that the world will see more extremes in weather, a possible side effect of so-called climate change.

During a Newsmaker Luncheon at the National Press Club on Wednesday, Cantore was asked how relevant the issue of climate change is to his “day-to-day duties” and whether it changes “the business of forecasting on a short-term basis.”

“If you look at today’s dollars and you go back to the 1980s, we averaged about $1 billion disaster a year. In the 2000s, we’ve averaged almost five, and in the last two years, we’ve averaged $7.5 billion disasters per year. So, we’ve seem more extremes, and we’re … going to continue to see more extremes,” Cantore said.

~~snip~~

“And being a guy who stands out in the rain all the time, it rains, it’s raining harder out there. And that’s really weird. It’s not scientific, but when I’m out there in it, it just seems to be raining a lot harder. More water vapor means more rainfall,” he said.

I will never understand this simplistic notion that more heat = violent weather...like the earth is a pot of boiling water.

One of the central beliefs in GW is that the poles are warming faster than the equator. This means that the temperature differentials should become smaller...and actually our weather should get less violent.

Anyone who believes hot = storms just doesn’t know what they are talking about.

LOL, this idiot Cantore doesn’t understand inflation.

And he apparently knows nothing about Hurricane strength and US landfall.

New hurricane record – 2232 days and counting since major Hurricane made landfall on the USA – last record was year 1900

So this is the weakest period of major hurricanes hitting the US since 1900, and we are now guaranteed to break that record. So we are in the weakest period of major hurricanes hitting the US ever in recorded history. Exactly the opposite that Cantore claims and exactly the opposite of what the AGW Idiots predicted.

Me thinks Cantore has been in too many hurricanes already, been left out in the rain too long, has received a few too many blows to the head from hurricane debris, and is all wet.

I have yet to have explained to me how humans, putting 0.0012% of a trace gas that makes up .04% of the atmosphere, can/is causing globull warming.

Here's an explanation I gave the other day: /focus/bloggers/2821531/posts?page=11#11

Regarding your percentages: It's true is only 0.04% but it was only 0.028 percent around 1850. The amount we added took it from about 0.03% to 0.04% (part of the rise was natural). There's bound to be some warming from that, but not more than I would consider beneficial especially since the CO2 warming is greatest in Siberia, northern Canada, etc. in winter and at night.
