I believe throughout history, it is the cultural value they have on education and literacy. (pinging SJackson, I think he wrote on this before). When your culture values education, you end up in more successful positions and thus, people who aren’t successful blame them for their failures instead of themselves.

Does history bear out the fact there’s money to be made in playing “victim?” Yes. It applies across the board to humankind. If Israel is so smart and capable of prosperity, why do they need billions from the USA? People of Jewish faith deserve better, yet we treat them no differently than our ever-growing welfare population.

That was certainly a major factor in European antisemitism in the 18th and 19th century. Though the carryover of european values is probably an issue, I suspect in this century non-Islamic antisemitism comes from darker areas. Simply being different is enough to focus hate. You're correct that financial success in itself can make on "the other". The banker, media stuff, I'd largely attribute that to the European influence, despicable, but not an American invention.

All this Paul stuff and more came out here 4 years ago. It's a shame no one cared. I've seen a few articles on left wing and minority blogs along the lines of why didn't Republicans throw this guy out. I hope that doesn't get traction.
