Insurance Past Could Sink Elizabeth Warren

How does U.S. Sen. Scott Brown win re-election in this blue state?

Massachusetts Republicans win when the Democrat is damaged, such as U.S. Rep. John Tierney, who had no idea that his wife was filing false tax returns for the family gambling ring.

Victory is also possible when it is an open seat, such as the 4th Congressional District, finally being vacated by Congressman Barney Frank.

And Brown proved that Republicans can defeat a well-entrenched Democrat when the opposition is arrogant, elite and has a bad case of foot-in-mouth disease.

While Marsha Coakley and Lizzy Warren share the same personal flaws of being out of touch with the Massachusetts middle class, the Harvard professor also has a potential deadly political sin in her background. Maybe it is the reason President Obama didn’t nominate her to head up the consumer agency. It is not a secret that his administration believed Lizzy couldn’t survive the Senate confirmation process.

Oh goodness gracious.

Years ago I had an occasion to interview a lawyer who defended a large well known chain saw company.

He never lost a case.

The secret was in proving that the plaintiff had not read the instruction book ~ and it turns out that is remarkably easy to prove (more deponent saith not).

Anyway, he told me that it really takes steel nerve and resolve to show up in court where the other side has this guy who is all chewed up ~ the large gashes in the face, and the missing eyeballs being the worst.

He said "you just know the jury ain't on your side".

So, Elzbeth, besides burning toads with Sunlight focused with her large scientific magnifying glass was defending against asbestos plaintiffs.

Bet she had videos of them resting peacefully under umbrellas at the beach NOT COUGHING.

Remember, Lizzy is supposed to a good liberal, who sides with “the little people” against the big bad corporations. I guess the dollar signs proved to be too much for her in this case.

If Senator Scott Brown became a conservative, instead of being a RINO, then that would help him, too. Senator Scott Brown is hurting himself, among all non-leftist Massachusetts voters (all two of them).

That woman is almost as revolting as Debbie Was-a-man Schultz. She assumes everyone recognizes as she does, that she is the most intelligent Marxist in the room and is entitled to be paid very well to rule over the average American peasant. I despise her authoritarian arrogance.

Heh. It's Martha Coakley you nitwits at the Boston Herald, not Marsha. Marsha is how Patrick Kennedy introduced her at a campaign event. He can be excused, his brain is pickled. The Herald should also know Brown won because "Marsha" did not run a campaign. She expected to be given the job.

Of course that is true...but even so, look at the alternative. Brown, at best, is 50% conservative. Any bets as to how conservative Warren happens to be??

This, also, proves the point that there’s no “end game plan” put into place that will, actually, end “RINO Republicanism” and then, successfully, replace it with “Conservative Republicanism”! There are plenty of situations where RINOS end up harming the entire GOP much more than what the D’s end up doing against the R’s!

While I sympathize with you, sorry, I don’t agree. Trying to get and hold seats in an area of the country that is simply psycho is very difficult. The best that any practical person can hope for is a Republican that will vote for our judges (i.e. Olympia Snowe, and Susan Collins) and will support us 50% of the time. So far, Brown has met that level (but not by much).

The Republican party is a coalition from top to bottom. Give you an example of what that means ~ remember the folks in the Oregon/California border region who found their irrigation water diverted to the use of sucker fish and then for the destruction of salmon fry?

Obviously they shared our interest in not letting government become more oppressive, and possibly reducing it in scale (both at federal and state levels, and locally!).

At the same time even if there'd been no federal or state involvement in the reclamation projects that'd made that area's agriculture possible, you would have found local land use monitored closely by whatever authority ran the irrigation project.

A local decision could have been made favoring fish over farmers ~ for the benefit of fishermen in the area ~ or the local interest in having a salmon run (Oh, noes, fish over potatoes!).

We found ourselves in league with a group that was probably 90% in synch with us, but there was that nagging 10% ~ and sometimes you could see people getting their hackles up on FR when they'd give the wrong answer.

As far as I know the most contentious issues were addressed when a number of farmers quit the business and moved on. Plus, the enviro-nazis were left out of further negotiations regarding water use ~ then the Obama regime weighed in on the idea of eliminating hydropower (that is, actually, solar power) production on the river. (So much for the Obama Regime eh?)

Those folks are part of what you could call the Conservative faction within the Republican Coalition YET they rent government owned land to use government owned water rights to produce food ~ or to fish fish ~ or to just live there and do nothing but look at the government owned scenery, and every single one of them is happiest when the water rights are oversold and the rent is low!

Virtually none of that is understandable in the Eastern United States where most land is privately owned, there are gazillions of lakes and streams all over the place just spilling fresh water into the ocean, and almost no one would stoop so low as to rent land from the government ~ we would demand they sell it (See base closure plans).

Up in Massachusetts we have a similar problem ~ right down to the small hydropower dams ending up in public debates.

Scott Brown is one of their Senators. He elects to sit in the Republican Senate Caucus ~ although but for history he might as well be a Democrat. Still, we are sure that when the Republicans seize control and we have our own Majority Leader controlling the legislative agenda, Scott will still sit with our caucus and won't sell out for a penny or two on a milk price support deal.

Still, he could sell us out if NONE of the Republican Senate agenda items favored Massachuetts, but it's not likely.
