This means that soon male homosexual couples will be able to have genetic children, if a stem cell of one male is used to create an egg.

(They would still need a "surrogate mother" to carry the embryo.)

The article says that the current research uses stem cells from women's ovaries to create the egg, but once they develop the technique, they will be able to use any stem cell (e.g., from the skin).

When they learn how to turn stem cells into sperm cells, then lesbian couples will also be able to have genetic children.

Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital say they have extracted stem cells from human ovaries and made them generate egg cells.

Nope. Males don't have ovaries, women are still needed for the process.

Massachusetts General Hospital must have some very evil researchers, to have such a low regard for life ...

That’s going to be a very, very expensive treatment. Only the very rich would be able to afford that.

Science is not God. Science can be used for evil as well as for good. This is evil. Evil science such as this should be illegal. Purely evil.

And further into the bottomless moral abyss we speak. I never underestimate the liberals, for they can always sink lower. A child born without a biological mother or father is heartbreaking.

Ian Malcolm in Jurrasic Park Scientists spend to much time asking “Can we...?” when they should be asking “Should we?”

Re: surrogate mother

I bet somewhere in a lab there are scientists who are working to produce an artificial birthing tank or a stem cell produced equivilent to a uterus so that human birth mothers aren’t needed.

And it’s obvious that you wouldn’t want to use just any old stem cell donor. You’d want to cull out those whose DNA showed recessive genes or inheirited medical problems like sickle cell anemia, Marfans Syndrome, insanity, obesity and other problems.

Step by step we arrive at the goal of producing a Master Race on a production line. All in the name of scientific curiousity/inquiry.

That's quite a stretch. Who said that? From the article:

"Even if the research is validated, the immediate use of the cells in question would be to generate egg cells for research use, like testing the effects of drugs. Use in fertility treatments would be far off, Dr. Albertini said, because cells grown in the laboratory often develop abnormalities, a problem that would need correction before any egg could be accepted for fertilization."

That's the only sentence in the article with the word "any." Adult stem cells are fairly differentiated. Reverting to an oocyte would be quite a trick, IMHO. Check out induced pluripotent stem cells.
