Maverick is becoming an F-35 test pilot.
It's true.
Tom Burbage, the Lockheed Martin F-35 programme manager, showed up at a National Aeronautics Association luncheon today and dropped a bombshell of a Hollywood scoop. Sure, there was talk about schedules and budgets, partners and politics, software blocks and carrier hooks. But we'll get to that later.

It’a been over 20 years since I’d seen that movie. I don’t remember the volleyball scene. I’ll have to watch it again from NETFLIX.
Top Gun came out when my son was an infant. We watched it when he was old enough to appreciate it and he is now in the Marine aviation program. It did have an impact, phony or not!
The best part of TG were the F-14 Tomcats.
“I wonder if theyll roll Val Kilmer out again as Iceman? Of course, the way he looks now-a-days, maybe hell change his call sign to Doughboy.”
Iceman, now a liberal congressman from Massachusettes is trying to kill the program. This after Maverick turns down his advances to come live with him and start up a brothel from their livingroom.
Ha! My friends and I called the movie “Top Gun on Wheels.”
"Is this bird ready to fly? Tell me the truth!"
"Truth? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"
There’s good propaganda and bad propaganda!
My son also wanted to get into flying, tanks, battleships, but signed up for...Grunt. Doing his time over there now.
I love flying so took him to McGuire’s air show in the umbrella stroller and when he saw the recon team climb the fence, crawl the field and blow up the buildings, his fate was sealed. LOL I’ll never forget that I noticed he was staring at something and then I saw them slithering (is there a Marine term for that?).
Thanks for his service and prayers for his safety. Always.

IMHO, “Final Countdown” was superior to “Top Gun” in all aspects as far as mil-porn goes...
