Democrats Declare 'War On Moms'
Big Journalism ^ | 04-11-12 | Dana Loesch

Posted on 04/12/2012 12:02:22 AM PDT by Lazlo in PA

Hilary Rosen, a partner at SKDKnickerbocker, the PR firm of former Obama communications director Anita Dunn, charged that Ann Romney "hasn't worked a day in her life" and suggested that Ann Romney can't possibly understand economic issues because she's a lowly homemaker.

What you have is Mitt Romney running around the country saying, “Well, my wife tells me what women really care about are economic issues.” And, “When I listen to my wife, that’s what I’m hearing.” Guess what? His wife has never actually worked a day in her life. She’s never really dealt with the economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing—in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school, and how do—why we worry about their future.

In the same breath Rosen ironically says:

... there’s something much more fundamental about Mitt Romney—he just seems so old-fashioned when it comes to women, and I think that comes across, and I think that’s going to hurt him over the long term. He just doesn’t really see us as equal.

Yes, there is something old-fashioned about the belief that a homemaker couldn't understand the complexity of the economics affecting her household. Rosen apparently subscribes to the Linda Hirschman worldview, one that posits women are only as valuable as their contributions outside the home, unrelated to children and family. Rearing up the next generation that will someday run the world is woefully under appreciated.

It was only a matter of time before the wheels fell off this tired "War On Women" meme. I see Hilary Rosens future in the Communist Party, I mean DemocRat party very bleak after blowing this for them.

Ann Romney is an odd target for Democrats. She is pro-abortion and has publicly stated that all their friends are Democrats!

This is such a weird nominating race! Wouldn’t you agree?

“Democrats Declare ‘War On Moms’”

I wish our side was creative enough to come up with their own cliches instead of using the democrats’ all the time like a sloppy seconds.

No offence to the Lazlo in PA. Lazlo in PA’s just posting them as they are written.

Maybe a rich woman like Mrs. Romney has no clue about financial difficulty but it isn't because she is a stay at home wife. Women who run a house hold on an average income have a better understanding of what it takes to make ends meet than any frickin' politician, man or woman, will ever have.

What the hell do these idiots think a stay at home mom does? When I was growing up, my mom held the purse strings and it was a good thing too, because my step dad would have spent it all on cars and guns:). She kept things humming and knew the price of everything down to the last half cent.

My brother and I used to always say that you could give mom 10 bucks and she could save 20 out of it. A slight exaggeration but close to the truth.

This woman who went on this absurd tangent about stay at home moms was defiantly spoon feed Betty Freidan her whole life. The Left goes out of their way to hide their true thinking on this topic but every once in a while they slip up and show their disdain for the family.

I have no quarrel with Ann Romney or any of the our candidates wives or children. The issue I have here is with the mindset the Regime and it’s henchmen have for traditional values of most Americans. This is a fairly egregious slip. I just read a follow up to this story and the Regime has dispatched Axlerod for damage control. I got the impression the WH is not sleeping well tonight over this.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a conservative stay at home mom, work at home mom, or work outside the home mom. If you’re Right, the Left is gonna hate.

This utterly stupid comment is like the hag, Hillary (who, by the way, was named for that famous Beekeeper in New Zealand) saying: “What?, do you expect me to do, stay at home and bake cookies?”

Rosen served as Political Director and Washington Editor-at Large for the Huffington Post.

Boycott AOL and CNN and their advertisers.

That should go over well with women

It gets even better.

The 0bama campaign is already in damage control mode with Axelrod showing his "disapproval". Yeah right.

Then Ann Romney responds by her 1st ever Tweet: "I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work"

An excellent response. You would think the DemocRats would realize that they not exacerbate the issue by responding.

But that is exactly what they do! As if they didn't step in it already, Rosen piles on with these gems:

"I’ve nothing against @AnnRomney. I just don’t want Mitt using her as an expert on women struggling $ to support their family. She isn’t." And then: "@AnnDRomney Please know, I admire you. But your husband shouldn’t say you are his expert on women and the economy," Followed by Rosen's coup de grace: "oh and @AnnDRomney welcome to Twitter. You will find it a very exhilarating and often unforgiving place!"

KABOOM. Not only did she not back down, she just threw a barrel of gasoline on the fire by implying that the Romney's had better get ready for the attacks on the family with that "often unforgiving" comment.

This isn't going to play well for Zero. Not at all.

In addition to raising 5 kids - Ann Romney also worked with MANY children's charities, including being director of the inner city-oriented Best Friends.

She worked extensively with the Ten Point Coalition in Boston and with other groups that promoted better safety and opportunities for urban youths.

She was given the 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award from Salt Lake City-based Operation Kids. She has also served as a board member for the United Way of America[ and helped found United Way Faith and Action -

ALL of the above while having Multiple Sclerosis AND Breast Cancer

RE: Hilary Rosen’s comments -

Which is more in tune with the understanding of women's values —

Michelle Obama’s last “job” before becoming 1st lady - was administering Chicago hospital's program - that she created - dumping “low income” patients.

OR

Ann Romney's job raising 5 children while all the WORK she did (above, and more) — all the while fighting Multiple Sclerosis AND Breast Cancer.

Michelle Yo’ Mamma work —

“”The University of Chicago Medical Center has received a good deal of justly opprobrious press over its policy of “redirecting” low-income patients to community hospitals while reserving its own beds for well-heeled patients requiring highly profitable procedures. Substantial coverage was given to a recent indictment of the program by the American College of Emergency Physicians. ACEP’s president, Dr. Nick Jouriles, released a statement suggesting that the initiative comes “dangerously close to ‘patient dumping,’ a practice made illegal by the Emergency Medical Labor and Treatment Act, and reflected an effort to ‘cherry pick’ wealthy patients over poor.”

Oddly absent from most of the unflattering press coverage of UCMC’s patient-dumping scheme is any mention of the role our new First Lady played in devising the program. A laudable exception has been the Chicago Sun-Times, which reported last August that “Michelle Obama - currently on unpaid leave from her $317,000-a-year job as a vice president of the prestigious hospital - helped create and directed the program.” “””

On November 30, 2004, Rosen became the interim director for the Human Rights Campaign, a leading GLBT lobbyist organization, following the ouster of Cheryl Jacques. Hilary's partner, Elizabeth, was the executive director of HRC for eight years prior to Jacques' assumption of the post.

She's a lesbian. Of course, she doesn't understand.

chauvanists wearing HEELS?? most leftist women don’t wear heels; they wear Doc Martins or Birkenstocks.

I’m 52 and only dream I could have had the option of being a SAHM. Although I will say that with today’s pro-feminazi family courts, a man would be a FOOL to have his wife be a SAHM (massive alimony/spousal support, child support, etc) Western women wield the exact same power over Western men as MOSLEM men have over MOSLEM women

Betty Friedan would never have said this, she became quite disenchanted with what NOW became later in her life. Remember that one of the early feminist goals was to recognize a housewife financially as equal to working outside of the house and encouraging a pay plan for doing it.

From her Wiki profile:

” . . . Friedan founded the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws but was later critical of the abortion-centered, politicized tactics of many liberal and radical feminists.

Regarded as an influential author and intellectual in the United States, Friedan remained active in politics and advocacy for the rest of her life, authoring six books. As early as the 1960s Friedan was critical of polarized and extreme factions of feminism that attacked groups such as men and homemakers. One of her later books, The Second Stage, critiqued what Friedan saw as the extremist excesses of some feminists who could be broadly classified as gender feminists . . .”.

She is our would-be First Lady now. So what is the point in attacking her? I can't stand Mittens, but the deal is done. Dems have handed us a gift here, which we can use to make Ann an icon for stay at home moms and reverse the "war on women" bullcrap. TAKE THE GIFT and work it 100% against Obama.

It's not sloppy seconds. It's called neutralizing, and it works. Dana knows what she's doing. Expect similar blasts from Malkin et al as the day progresses. Rosen just cost Obama 5% of the female vote overnight.
