"You can't fight evil with evil"
July 17, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/17/2012 3:30:32 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

As Alan Keyes wrote the other day, you cannot fight evil with evil.

If you haven't read it, do yourself a favor:

A Choice Between Satan and Beelzebub (FR thread)

Brief excerpt:

I grieve deeply as I contemplate the fact that millions of Americans are letting themselves be caught in this diabolical snare. As I tried to point out in 2008, the lesser of evils is still evil. No matter how such an election turns out, people content to choose between Satan and Beelzebub have made clear their willingness to let things go to hell. Moreover, the nature of their choice is so clear to them that they practically boast of the passionate hatred that impels them to it. With this practical boast they become the willing, proud accomplices of the very evil they profess to hate.

I’m morally certain this is why Christ admonished his disciples to make striving for God’s perfection the standard for their actions, rather than their hatred of evil. He thought it better to fail reaching for this standard than succeed by abandoning one’s life to the devil’s dominion. He thought it better to fail in the world’s eyes while commending one’s spirit to God (as he does on the cross) than succeed by casting one’s lot with God’s adversary.

--Alan Keyes

A man who for over 30 years of his adult life by his own admission justified the wholesale slaughter of innocent and helpless human life is purely evil and can and did justify anything. Many times.

Romney's entire political life has been a mis-adventure into godless liberal/progressive evil. There can be no denying that he has during his tenure either advocated for or personally enacted nearly the entire godless liberal/progressive agenda. He has succeeded where the Democrats have failed and he has shown them the way. His record of evil leftist doings, rationalizing, justifying, flip-flopping and mealy-mouthed parsing and spinning (lying) precedes him and tells the tale of the man. He has no foundation. No core principles. No Christian values. No moral compass. If ever a man was a godless liberal in the GOP, he is Myth Romney.

If the Republican conservatives in office or in leadership positions or in the so-called conservative media would simply stop rooting for this evil bastard and commit to the TRUTH and stand tall for Life and Liberty now and at the convention, we could chuck this liberal bastard onto the ash heap of history and run a pro-life, pro-liberty, pro-small government conservative Republican that we can all be proud to support over the Marxist usurper. And we would WIN in a Reaganesque landslide!!

Perversely, Romney is just about the only Republican who may actually lose to Obama. Hell, even McCain beat Romney.

Taking the right path is not easy and not popular at this time, but it's the only path.

May we stand on God's side while attempting to save our Republic!!

It would be good to have a million or two tea parties show up at the convention carrying their favorite candidates names, Palin, Newt, Perry and get loud about it . Get on the cameras, be the news of the convention. Make a presence felt inside of the building. Make the RINO-Es think about somebody other than Myth. Make a change in the convention.

Even if you were hoping for a Perot (I’m not, for the record) he isn’t normally raised up that quick. I think the MSM is happy with the idea of either Obama or Romney, which is why their clash has been dealt with so surprisingly evenhandedly.

I’d like to see them symbolically called to task for their reported exclusion of Sarah Palin. It probably was Mitt’s choice in order to prevent nastiness between his rabidly anti-Palin campaign manager and her in the midst of the convention, but still. “WHY ISN’T SARAH HERE?” ought to be seen on a thousand signs in Tampa.

The GOP will always leaf us in the field if they know they are going to get our support anyway. That is why we need to form our own conservative bloc which is not a part of the GOP.

Conservatives need to approach GOP candidates, or any candidate, with a litmus test for support. If the candidate fails the litmus test they don't get our support no matter who their opponent is.

If conservatives were solid in this position, it wouldn't take long before candidates worked hard to pass the litmus test.

That was a rather quick drama too. Not even an attempt to plumb the finer points of Why Not Mitt.

What is your purpose in voting for Goode? There is ZERO chance of anyone third party winning the presidency. The winner will be either Romney or Obama.

You're operating under the delusion that this election was/is/will be honest after all the corruption ALREADY seen in every institutional process that exists in the Federal government. There is a ZERO chance of preserving life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness with EITHER ONE of the choices foisted upon us by the Ruling Class.

If Obama wins there will be MORE abortion funding and MORE abortions.

Moot point because that fact will continue regardless of either Obama OR Romney being made leader.

There will be NO repeal of Obamacare

Yeah, if you think Romney or the Ruling Class are going to repeal ObamaCare, I have a bridge made out of gold to sell you very cheap. Neither one of them is repealing what has now been perceived as a legitimate function of the feds.

We have a shortage of ER drugs now and it will get much worse if Obama is reelected.

This scare-tactic crap is NOT going to fly with us. All of this scaremongering IS ALREADY A REALITY THAT WE ARE STUCK WITH. It's here. It's the NEW AMERIKA. We're behind enemy lines under occupation - and to placate us awhile longer, the Ruling Class is creating an illusion that voting for Romney saves us from Obama and what he has already done.

For crying out loud, READ the history of Marxism and where we have arrived when such people have achieved the highest offices of power. When you do, you should be able to understand where we have arrived based on what the last 4-plus years has demonstrated.

THEN consider the abject disdain and vehement opposition of the GOP-e to the TEA Party and Conservatives and their efforts in tandem with the Obama regime and media, to sabotage every single Conservative even possibly running, and it's self-evident that the Ruling Class has chosen to share in where they know the power will lie.

It's time to get right with God. Time to put away expedience for Righteousness because WE WILL be held to account for what we did with the blessings given to us.

Because if all your hope in saving what is left of our liberty and Constitution rests on November's election - you're going to die of bewilderment and shock, and you have no clue what time it already is

Sadly, our enemies know the time, which is why they are boldly and brazenly letting the mask come off and revealing who and what they truly are to a duped citizenry ripe for class war and acceptance of MarxoFascism as the LEGITIMATE purpose of America.

Last week we had Obama tell us that all our business are belong to him, and today we had Schmuck Schumer giving a speech from the Senate floor that the First Amendment is not absolute and should be regulated.

The math of where we have arrived is not hard, if you are honest with youself.

And that's the real issue here: being honest with ourselves and in the process comporting with God and the Bible in our course of actions.

Voting for Romney does not stop Obama or what Obama has already done. It simply plants the standard in the same evil and nothing changes, except that Conservatism will be forever rendered politically irrelevant on the battlefield of ideas.

As a Jewish Conservative (and a Conservative Jew), I see things very much as evangelical Christians do when it comes to moral and social issues. I’m less enthusiastic about the strain of anti-Mormonism that I’ve seen around here, which to me is maybe a little too close to the kind of Antisemitism that I experienced as a kid.

Ah, TOL, you're a daisy if ya do!

Actually, I was thinking of the words of Doc Holliday (that would be you) after besting Johnny Ringo (that would be telebob) in a duel to the finish. I know ... I've watched Tombstone one too many times. Maybe even three too many times.

Finny - You do understand that every FReeper, even the MYTHical Romney “supporters”, would be thrilled if the Republicans somehow Nominated another Candidate at the Convention right? It isn't going to happen, but there is always a sliver of that hopey dopey changey magic that the Nation embraced in 2008.

There are those here who understand the Republican Primaries are over and we are down to two Presidential Candidates vying for the Office. They consider themselves Realists.

The Realists look at the situation in very simple terms, Obama must not win Reelection. If Romney is the alternative to Obama, which it appears he will be, he is the only avenue left to avoid four more years of the Obama invented Train Wreck we are experiencing on a daily basis.

Others here, you included, think that a protest Vote against both Candidates will shake up the Country and an Omnipotent Conservative Phoenix will rise from the ashes in 2016 to be elected in a landslide to save the Country from all things Progressive.

That is a noble goal, but it will never happen. The next Sotomayors and Kagans that Obama will put on the SCOTUS will insure our economic slavery is enshrined in the hollow document that used to be the Constitution. I cannot begin to imagine where we will be after another four years of The One.

Well, that's my opinion. I'm not arguing, and you can tell me to blow it out my behind, but that's how it looks to me.
