14 dead after truck with immigrants crashes in US

A pickup truck overloaded with illegal immigrants veered off a highway and crashed into trees in rural Texas, killing at least 14 people and leaving nine injured, authorities said Monday.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were looking into the human smuggling aspect of the Sunday’s crash...

ICE spokesman Greg Palmore said citizens of Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras were among the 11 men and three women who died.

Gerald Bryant, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said at least 23 passengers were crammed inside the truck’s cab and bed, including at least two young children he saw among the dead.

These crashes happen all the time. Here in central TX we had one, overloaded van wrecked, only one death but 7 different care flights to haul them for treatment, all on county dime. All were illegal!
