Barack Obama might have gay voters to thank for his reelection, especially right here in Florida. A new analysis suggests that if only straight people went to the polls here, Romney would have pulled off a win by something like two percentage points.
"Similarly, analysis of preliminary returns from Florida show that the 420,000 total LGBT votes cast in the state may be a deciding factor in President Obama's projected lead in Florida," reads a new analysis by the Williams Institue. "Though final results aren't yet known, an estimated 300,000 LGBT Floridians voted for the president -- a margin many times larger than the current vote difference between the two candidates."
Nationally, 76 percent of self-identified LGBT voters voted for the President. Only 22 percent voted for Romney.
In Florida, Obama got 73 percent of the LGBT vote. 26 percent voted from Romney.
That's not much of a surprise. Obama repealed Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and became the first sitting president to personally back gay marriage. Mitt Romney maintains that Obama won because of "gifts" he gave to certain groups of voters, and apparently the "gift" of equality goes a long way.
Among state voters in Florida, the Institute finds that Romney won 51 to 49 percent. Romney also would have won the national popular vote and other close swing states, like Ohio, if it were only up to straight voters.
Or don't they have log cabins in Florida ... only beachfront condos.
If only there were less mooning over Miami.
Can we offer them free aids treatments for their votes?
I bet you a bunch of them came from the lesbians of pensacola.
It’s infested.
Guess that is why Tennessee is my favorite southern state. We are close to mountains and an easy drive to liberal states for indulgence in extremes.
Yeaaarrrrgh!
They enjoy being f..ed!
How do dem statisticians know how many freaks, latinos, morons, wimin.... voted for whom?
Like, they are yelling: “I am latina and I proudly cast my vote for Kenyan?”
The song “Moon Over Miami” was written in 1935 by composers Joe Burke and Edgar Leslie.

I call BS. Gays have long over estimated their strength as a way of gaining influence. Florida was ALL about fraud.
homos and druggies...
they both relate and associate with him...
and they are both repelled by Romney, as he is a living reminder of their own failings in life.
Does that include Charlie “Green Iguana” Crist, I wonder?
That's worse than even Bush in 2004 when he got 24% and campaigned on a federal marriage amendment. McCain got 27% and the 2010 GOP surge took 31%. WA Post
It looks like more of them bought into Obama's symbolism over substance. Or, perhaps, more were punishing Romney for his Mormon faith since the LDS is blamed for the Prop 8 marriage amendment victory in CA some years back.
There's been a big "Prop Hate/Prop 8/No H8" social media propaganda campaign among celebrities where they appear in photos with "NO H8" on one cheek and duct tape over their mouths. It's popular with the younger generation.
Gays are so smart to vote for Sharia.
Bump
Oh please. This is such a lie.
Now Romney knows what it’s like to get nailed in the keester.
The difference between Democrat and Republican voting habits is that single-issue Democrats come out and vote; single issue Republicans stay home and sulk.
Call it positive single issue voting, versus negative single issue voting.
Gays come out and vote because of their one issue, regardless of the other positions the candidates. Same with various frightened “ethnic minorities”, abortion advocates, “women’s rights advocates”, and on and on. So they all add up their votes and win. Positive.
Republicans (conservatives) reject a candidate who doesn’t match their views 100% on all issues. So if they disagree with him on a single issue, they stay home. Negative. I’ve never been able to figure out what this is supposed to accomplish, except to perpetually had the reins of power to the other side.
The numbers in this election bear this out more than in any previous one. And how is that working out?
lmko (”laughing my keester off”)
Wrong. He “won” Florida (and Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and Virginia, etc.) by election fraud, nothing more.
