Other video depicts the pressure/shock wave blowing doors inward as if an explosion occurred just outside the doors..
Be thankful that the Cold War is over for we have a president who just might do what the Hollywood-commie-loving pukes did in the movie "Fail Safe".
To placate their commie heroes the Hollywood crowd had the President of the United States order an immediate nuclear strike on New York City. (At the time I think NYC had a Republican mayor and Obama probably would pick a Republican state to nuke.)
I can't wait to see the faces on those Russian cops when an Imperial Probe Droid pops out of that crater and figures out its NOT on Hoth!
Betcha they get all the damage repaired before all the damage gets repaired in Hurricane Sandy Land.
Where’s Obama? Where’s Biden? This story stinks to the high heavens...
/sarcasm
Didn’t the USS Lake Erie shoot down a bus sized satellite a few years ago? I heard that the Russians scrambled interceptors but couldn’t do anything. The US Navy could possibly have detected and brought down this thing.
The energy yield from the explosion was in the kiloton range; bigger than the most recent North Korean nuke test, which was about 6 kilotons. So this one may have been around 10 kilotons.
Good thing it exploded as high up as it did; lower to the ground would’ve produced an enormous pressure wave that likely would’ve caused massive structural damage to those prefab apartment blocks (I live in one - they’re sorta cheaply made, to be blunt). And possibly a serious loss of life as well.
Average daily high temperature in February is a balmy minus 8 degrees Fahrenheit. Having no windows will be a blast.
Isn’t (or wasn’t) Chelyabinsk the center of Russias’ famed/feared bio-weapons labs?
Damn that global warming!
I bet that whack-job Nancy Leider is just beside herself over this. Planet X will be overhead any minute now!!!!!111!!!
The event was so loud, those people in buildings or homes who did not see it, said they thought it was a massive earthquake. There actually was an earthquake in Russia yesterday, but evidently not massive. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/usc000f76f.php
Astronomers chronically downplay the hazard of meteor and comet impact on Earth for one simple reason. Our only defense against them at present are the world’s nuclear ICBM arsenals and liberal academia bleeds from its eyes and ears at any justification for the nuclear arms race to be considered as a savant for humanity. Google “Richard Firestone” plus “Younger Dryas Event”
Duck and Cover works.
Turns out this wasn’t a lone object. They think this was part of a meteor shower. Some showers can last for up to 10 days. I hope there aren’t more of these coming at us.
