Such rot and dysfunction in our families nowadays ...it just boggles the mind.

More and more the idea of the sweet innocent granny is disappearing and these monsters are growing in number. Had one push her 3 year old granddaughter off a mall balcony in our area a few years ago.

Psychotropic drugs? Liberal mind rot? Mental illness on the rise? Or just pure satanic evil at work here ... hard to tell.

You know, its easy to say that what’s being prescribed to seniors can’t be that attributable to what we are seeing and reading about lately.

My FIL was recently transferred to an assisted living facility, and was depressed about it. he’d recently had a heart attack, then a stroke while on the table. He recovered, then got hit with an several infections. On top of all this, he’s got MS.

At 71, if you are walking with a cane or a walker, you are living pretty large. Everything, however, is relative, and so he got depressed.

They put him on Xanax, and not only was this PhD and college professor lethargic, he was so zoned out that we all concluded, ‘he was gone’.

His wife, an RN, decided to take him off of it. He got better almost immediately. He reported hallucinations, a feeling like he was outside and above his body, almost as if he was looking over his own head at people; like he was standing behind himself.

He hallucinated rivers running through his bedroom, etc.

We’ve heard about what the kid was on. I’d like to know what she may or may not have been on.

There’s an episode of the Sopranos where Junior shoots Tony while in a state of alzheimer’s induced hallucination.

Not arguing for gun control here, at all. I’m arguing for a VERY careful use of psychtropics and anti-depressants.

Are you referring to the Tysons Corner situation? I think that woman WAS totally psychotic.

This one seems to have been pushed over the edge. Obviously there’s a background there or he wouldn’t have been living with granny. I’d bet there is a LOT missing in this story.
