...in Grapevine, West of DFW, and have only had rain so far this evening; which is very welcome.

It sure is. This is the best soak Farmers Branch has had in months. Thank goodness that's all we got tonight. Getting some powerful thunder and lightning right now.

TV reporting 11,000 without power in DFW.

Weather channel reporting grapefruit-size hail in Granbury.

Yes. That was earlier today. Seems the worst of it is now over in Grandbury, but they got hit bad. Very bad. One kid said his neighborhood is gone.

I hate that weird creepy silence in the spring when Texas Cow Birds take to large flocks.

It usually means bad juju.

The Jarrell twister was doing unbelievable things that nobody knew about because nothing was left. What was left had to be quickly rescued to get survivors out of flattened houses. You can’t let the public or even the rescuers know how bad it is if you need them to keep rescuing.

The next day, after the damage was known, everybody just fell apart with grief. Property owners were angry at not being able to get to their houses.. because parts of people were everywhere for miles and the rescuers themselves were psychologically falling apart.

A mile-wide slow-mover even at 175mph is destroying everything it touches. I’m praying Granbury had Angels moving them out of harm’s way.

Thanks for that input regarding the Jurrell twister.

It’s hard I know...spent three weeks helping around Biloxi shortly after Katrina. Sometimes I still don’t believe what we did/saw there.

A few years back I played the movie "Twister" during one of these tornadic storms.

I freaked myself out bigtime.
