Exclusive: US bankrolled anti-Morsi activists
Documents reveal US money trail to Egyptian groups that pressed for president's removal.

Al Jazeera
10 July 2013

President Barack Obama recently stated the United States was not taking sides as Egypt's crisis came to a head with the military overthrow of the democratically elected president.

But a review of dozens of US federal government documents shows Washington has quietly funded senior Egyptian opposition figures who called for toppling of the country's now-deposed president Mohamed Morsi.

Activists bankrolled by the programme include an exiled Egyptian police officer who plotted the violent overthrow of the Morsi government, an anti-Islamist politician who advocated closing mosques and dragging preachers out by force, as well as a coterie of opposition politicians who pushed for the ouster of the country's first democratically elected leader, government documents show.

Information obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, interviews, and public records reveal Washington's "democracy assistance" may have violated Egyptian law, which prohibits foreign political funding.

It may also have broken US government regulations that ban the use of taxpayers' money to fund foreign politicians, or finance subversive activities that target democratically elected governments.

This is so that he can pretend that he’s not on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood

What is really going on in Egypt?

Here I had thought that the Current Regime squatting in the White Hut was totally on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood, no matter what the consequences. Now, they seem to have pulled the rug from beneath Morsi, was he not sufficiently Islamist for them? Because “moderation” is not a course this Current Regime is capable of, it is all in, or all trashed.

But then, there is no such thing as “nuanced” when dealing with Islam.

Obama is a radical muzzie. He supports the radical muzzie murdering thugs. He supports the Jehad that they are running against the muzzies that do not want to fight these wars. The Sunnis and the Shiites hate each other. I don’t know which mob Obama comes from, but I would suspect the Shiites since they are of Iran and hate everyone in the Sunnis. These two hate each other almost as bad as they hate Jews and Christians.

The US is funding EVERYBODY. Our government handles money through a very leaky sieve.

I wouldn’t believe a word Al Jazeera says.

Furthermore Al Jazeera has been so bad in Egypt that they’ve been shut down in that country.

Is our so-called Commander In Chief bi-polar?

In all seriousness, I've suspected that for some time.

Well nice to see that there are at least two of us who don't buy this piece of propaganda from al Jazerra.

Thinking this through:

The Saudis are calling the shots now, not obamaumau. Saudis usually payoff bribing terrorists (why they support terrorist madrassah schools), and they keep up the religious police in Saudi Arabia for the fundamentalists who, uncontrolled, are a threat to the House of Saud, as was bin Laden, and for that matter the Taliban, and continuing al-qaeda.

The muslim brotherhood, as part of this jihadism, is also a threat to House of Saud, in Egypt or anywhere else. House of Saud is always against Iran in the petroleum world, and ancient Persian enemies. So, House of Saud supports the secularized Egyptian military, which recognizes all religions in Egypt in the crucial country that controls most of the other side of the Suez canal from Saudi Arabia— the Protector of Mecca. A final kicker— this fits well with Israel’s needs and abilities in re: Iran (and not for the first time— recall Saudis support for US Iraqi war) as the Israelis have deliverable nukes against a brotherhood run Egypt helping Syrian rebels. Israel’s and Egypt’s military and Saudis all have the common interest of getting rid of the brotherhood in Egypt and elsewhere.

Parenthetically:

It is Debka, but they verified a transfer of 8 billion from Saudis to Egyptian military two days ago. Plus a further 4 billion more from U.A.E., and Kuwait. Today, we see announced that 4 F-16s of 20 ordered are to be shipped by Lockheed to Egypt, an order previously OK’d by US govt for the “brotherhood”. obamaumao studiously avoids the word “coup” which would stop US funds, even as Sauds provide the “insurance policy” for the US in this wave of the hand.

Game, set, re-set,... obamaumao and brotherhood loses. Soon to follow, Tunisia, and Libya (watch with interest). Wondering who in Saudi is pulling these strings against obamaumau and the brotherhood?

Nasser’s dream realized, but NOT controlled by Egypt, controlled by Saud.

Writing for Al Jazeera, Emad Mekay shills:
...a review of dozens of US federal government documents shows Washington has quietly funded senior Egyptian opposition figures... an exiled Egyptian police officer who plotted the violent overthrow of the Morsi government, an anti-Islamist politician who advocated closing mosques and dragging preachers out by force, as well as a coterie of opposition politicians who pushed for the ouster of the country's first democratically elected leader.
There it is again -- "first elected leader", complete B.S. Al Jazeera, owned by the Mad Emir of Qatar (recently retired, just before the overthrow, what a coincidence), slingin' bull.
