Regarding “journalists” - watch an old movie from the 30’s or 40’s, and you’ll recall how journalists used to be viewed - not as “professionals,” but as excitable, boorish, mid-brow, boozing, cigar-chomping scribblers who were basically making a living off of skills they learned in the fifth grade.
