Washington marched relentlessly toward its first federal shutdown in 17 years Saturday after House Speaker John A. Boehner yielded to conservative demands to use a government-funding bill to press an attack on President Obama’s 2010 health-care law.
Early Sunday morning, the House approved a plan to keep the government open past midnight Monday. But under pressure from Sen. Ted Cruz (Tex.) and other GOP hard-liners, Boehner (R-Ohio) agreed to amend the bill to include a one-year delay of the health law’s mandates, taxes and benefits — ensuring a stalemate with the Democratic Senate.

The permanent solution to this gun to the head situation which happens every year, would be to budget the federal government the way that corporations budget their departments, one by one, d’uh! Tell me why not?

CR = Continuing Resolution.
Continuing = OPPOSITE of stop or shutdown.
The House bill funds federal gov’t through Dec 15th.
The bill keeps in place insurance can not be denied based on pre-conditions;
Active Military & Social Security payments to continue.
Only item postponed for 1 year will be the individual mandate. Which is exactly same as Obama gave to LARGE businesses and congress critters & their staff.
It’s the Republican’s fault because they won’t let the Rats have their way! /s

House pushes Dingy to edge of shutdown.
Why do we not have at least thousands marching in D.C. against this monstrosity. Why can’t we get a 9/12 size march up there to back up the house? It’s very frustrating that Ted Cruz is holding the line single handed. He’s trying to get the Tea Parties to get there and help him hold the line. I think if obamacare passes it will be our fault for growing weary and complacent. I’m too old now to protest, but I sure do wish the younger Tea Party people would get there and let their voices be heard outside the halls of the Senate.
The House holds the purse strings. This is what they are supposed to do.
