The Celts liked to travel a lot. They founded colonies in NW Spain and Poland. They also inhabited a portion of Asia Minor and were known as the "Galatians," as in the Letters to the Galatians.

"Galicia" is a region in Southeastern Poland/Western Ukraine. And the speculation is that is where the name came from.
