Of course we are taught the Romans civilized the Celts and educated them. Most of what is known about Celts came from Roman writers. The victors write the history books. The Yankees said the same about the South and students are taught from Yankee history books. Only us Southerns that have deep family histories know the truth.
Reminds me of Churchill remarking that British history (reflecting his era) would treat him kindly because he planned to write most of it.
