Keep in mind that Roger Stone was also (IIRC) persona-non-Grata within the GOP for a while after he and his wife got caught trolling for wife-swapping opportunities at one of the Presidential nominating conventions (maybe 1992?)
The funny thing here is that Spitzers' gal-pal is so young she has no idea that actually happened. Otherwise she'd be leading with it rather than playing up the geriatric angle.

I saw the NY paper cover the other day — Daily News, I think. They had a front page picture of Liz and Eliot, and the caption was “Ho! Ho! Ho!”.
