Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio vowed to act quickly to abolish horse-drawn carriages in the city.

"We are going to get rid of the horse carriages. Period,” de Blasio said in response to a question at his press conference announcing his schools chancellor pick Monday.

“It’s over,” he said.

Blasio says it is inhumane to make the horses work and that they can be replaced with electric vehicles.

Because he is a socialist dictator, that’s why. You thought Bloomberg was bad? Just wait.

He resembles a horse’s ass. Maybe he’s trying to cover this up.

I hate DeBlasio, He’s a let-wing fruitcake and commie.

Having said that, New York City is no fit place for horses (or people for that matter). The city is LOUD, crowded, noisy, dangeous and brutally hot in the summer.

Keep horses in places where they ( and normal people) would be happier.

NY is getting exactly what it voted for. At least the horses won’t have to witness the coming carnage.

Yeah, good luck getting anyone to pay for a “romantic” electric vehicle ride in the park, de Blasio.

"We are going to get rid of the horse carriages. Period

That apparently means the horse carriages will continue to be used, possibly even more.

There was a headline some months ago about PETA funneling money to his campaign. This looks like a standard bought politician paying off his benefactor.

Typical city person thinking they know what a horse likes or does not like to do.

They think it must be inhumane so it is.

Doesn’t surprise me. Democrats think it is inhumane to make their constituents do work that can be done by robots .... or conservatives.

Too bad the article doesn’t explain why “it’s over.”

This guy hasn’t even taken office yet and he acts like a monarch.

New Yorkers are used to a lot of pain. Doesn’t appear that will change any time soon.

de Blasio is mentally ill.

“de Blasio is mentally ill.”

You mean over and above the mental illness that is liberalism?
