No doubt Canada's 'wondrous' Minister of Foreign Affairs, John Baird, played a role in this decision. He was the cabinet minister who expressed outrage over Russia banning homosexual propaganda being directed at Russian children.

Let me get this straight.
They allow heads of state from Muslim Countries where the penalty for homosexuality is death, the penalty for converting from Islam is death, where alleges adulterers and rape victims are stoned to death, etc., etc, but DENY admission to a Christian who merely signed a law making homosexuality illegal???
I think we need to GO BACK and READ some “enlightenment” political philosophy and maybe the Canadian people should read the American Declaration of Independence and PUT IT TO WORK. ALSO, AMERICANS should go back and read the Declaration of Independence and ponder its meaning.
A government which is tyrannical and does not reflect the wishes of the majority of its people is illegitimate and criminal and that precisely is what we have in most western countries today - unless of course, the majority of their residents really believe they are subjects who should follow the dictates of their political “betters”
Okay, Nigeria needs to identify something of importance to Canada that Nigeria can affect and start applying pressure; energy supplies, trade, whatever it might be. Also, restrict Canadian diplomats in Nigeria and send the Ambassador home.

Harper is rightly praised for reversing the formerly anti-Israel position of the Canadian government. However, on “social issues” (ie, G-d’s commandments) he’s a total bust. I wish it weren’t so.
