This is a very difficult situation. Do you believe we have the technology to sustain life because God allows it? Because He has the power to start and end life as He sees fit.

Exactly. He obviously has the power do that. All souls belong to Him weather they realize it or not. No sense in being a accessory to murder for those that don't know better.

Numerous flaws in your reasoning.

Please note: this comes from a pro-life Roman Catholic.

Doesn't really matter to some on FR. They believe in playing god, substituting their judgement for the husband's, the court, medical experts, the church and common sense.

In their eyes all everyone is a heathen except them. They are enlightened.

Thank you. I am further disgusted by the remarks on this thread and others implying that the father was somehow responsible for the embolism his wife suffered.

I have a very difficult time imagining an unborn child “living” within a dead body for any length of time without “inviting” serious complications to the child.....in some ways it’s abusing the child ..... The child requires far more than we know to develope and in this case if the child was to live IMO...should have been delievered at the time of her death.

The facts are you support killing an unborn baby. I am done with you and people like you.

At least you’re not being deleted from existence — unless a judge decides to rule otherwise.

They don’t know any better. As in the Millennium we must teach them if possible.

In refusing to take Marlise Munoz off life support, the hospital has cited a provision of the Texas Advance Directives Act that reads: "A person may not withdraw or withhold life-sustaining treatment under this subchapter from a pregnant patient."

How do you provide life-sustaining treatment to someone who is legally dead?

He stated the law as it was intended did not apply in this case.

Variable laws are so much fun. Do you also object to the Texas habit of executing criminals?

Well so much for that being illegal in Texas.

I’ve never said they were evil. I’ll assume you’re replying to me as the OP rather than some who have posted strong opinions.

I do find it odd that from the gitgo the father wanted the plugs pulled, rather than waiting to see how/if the baby would develop and become viable. But I’ve thankfully never been in his shoes.

Based on no medical background, it seemed to me that had this happened when the mom was at 20+ weeks, chances of the baby’s development and viability would have been fair, maybe 50-50, but at 14 weeks, the baby had not received enough of what babies need to grow and develop. My niece lost 2 babies she’d carried to 26 weeks, who survived for only 1-2 days. So, that leads me to think that 14 weeks offers little hope.
