MSNBCs Alex Witt is clearly one of those journalists who wishes Bill Clintons Monica Lewinsky sex scandal would completely fade from memory so as not to obstruct Hillary Clintons potential bid for the White House in 2016. On Sundays edition of Weekends with Alex Witt, the host went so far as to apologize after her guest mentioned Lewinskys name. [Video below. MP3 audio here.]
Witt was talking to Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.) about Sen. Rand Pauls (R-Ky.) attempts to link Mrs. Clinton to her husbands sexual misdeeds in the 1990s. Cicilline, a loyal Democrat, stuck up for Hillary and downplayed the importance of the scandal: I think these recent attempts to talk about President Clinton's relationship with Monica Lewinsky are an effort really to discredit... Secretary Clinton. There will be voters in the presidential election in 2016 who weren't even born during the Monica Lewinsky matter.
Whoops! The congressman mentioned Monica Lewinskys name twice. Witt, who had not spoken Lewinskys name up to that point, issued an apology to her viewers: I gotta tell you, I'm sorry we even had to mention that young lady's name it is what it is.
Is this what its come to? An MSNBC host doesnt even want to say the name of Bill Clintons most infamous sexual liaison anymore?
Some public figures may want to minimize the importance of the Lewinsky scandal in judging Hillary (including the gentlemanly moderate, Mitt Romney), but it deserves to be part of the discussion. In this age of the supposed War on Women, its worth asking if Hillary set the best example for women by excusing not just the Lewinsky affair, but her husbands other sexual infidelities as well.

Great minds.
“Disagree. Juanita Broderick is the real story. HC was involved in the clean-up afterwards.”
I’d agree if there was any acknowledgment by the White House or courts; the settlement of the Paula Jones case was a matter of public record that couldn’t be broomed under the carpet.

"You know, John, and its interesting because there are many who had such an optimistic and hopeful opinion of things, and you certainly cant expect things to change [snaps fingers] on a dime overnight, but there are many who suggested that with the outgoing Bush administration and the incoming Obama administration there would be something of a lull in terrorism attacks. There had been such a global outpouring of affection, respect, hope, with the new administration coming in, that precisely these kinds of attacks, it was thought at least hoped would be dampered down. But in this case it looks like Barack Obama is getting a preview of things to come."

During the 1992 campaign period..
Bill and Hill were interviewed on TV about Bill’s past “indiscretions”
Hill blatantly lied and said she believed him when he said he hadn’t cheated..
I think she said Gennifer Flowers was lying or something like that..anyhoo
(She “stood by her man”)
I watched her face and his..
I didn’t know one way or the other and I didn’t really care at that point... I was pulling for the GOP pick, Ford..
But when she lied I knew it right at that moment.. I realized she was lying for him and it took my breathe away..
I had no sympathy for her as the wronged wife nor any time for her as a woman and possible future First Lady...
She was an enabler, and ambitious maybe more than Bill she was salivating for the White House...
Theres something psychologically wrong with Hillary that there’ll never be enough for her...she lives a life of not being satisfied..
Maybe the White House was a substitute for Bill’s love or maybe she thought she could win him back by lying for him and helping him get there...
she was very classy and looked great at the inaugural ball her hair style was nice and her gown was lovely she looked elegant...every inch what we could admire in our First Lady..
but inside she was a desert...devoid of self respect and character..
she helped Bill win the White House she proved there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do to get him there...
Now she wants the White house for herself but thinks she needs to drag Bill along to help her get there...
Its not just Hillary its also Bill...
Senator Rand Paul is right to remind us what a “jerk” Bill Clinton was...
Bill is one of Hillary’s props and he needs to be knocked down ...
Why pic on Monica Lewinsky? Never a mention of Jennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Kathleen Whiley, or Juanita Broaddrick. Or Loral, Chinagate or Bhuddist nuns.
Refuses to utter the name of Bill Clinton’s condom?
Let’s not forget perjury, suborning perjury, and obstruction of justice, as well as the long list of women who could have come forward against him. The lapdog media tried to portray it as a GOP self righteous invasion of Clinton’s personal life.
MSLSD only discusses Republican scandals. Democrat scandals are verboten. And if there are no Republican scandals they will manufacture one.
Is she a young lady anymore?
Anyone that has any information on that issue or can, in any way, speak the truth on that issue has ‘disappeared’ or ‘met an unfortunate demise’.
I know a guy who grew up in the same neighborhood with Alex.
His two brothers, Dim and Half, were much brighter than Alex, whose nickname “Dumbass”.
Alex No-Witts!
“The lapdog media tried to portray it as a GOP self righteous invasion of Clintons personal life.”
As long as people talk about Monica instead of Paula, the media succeeded.
What about pictures?
Off by a couple decades, but not much difference between Ford and Bush.
Somebody at MSNBC managed to out-grovel Priss Matthews? Wow!
Just wait until Hillary has to release the joint tax returnes. That will be an absolute feast.
IMO, the REAL story (and what SHOULD have been grounds for WJC’s impeachment) was Chinagate.
