I have a friend who says that Ukraine has been firing on civilians in Eastern Ukraine for a while, and posted an article:

After several weeks of dedicated perusal, I would have to say... NO.
Ukraine has stepped up the pace of its military activity since the new government took over and auffered initial reverses.
Their recent success is probably linked to outside mercenaries of their own to fight the Russian backed forces in the field.
So what — it’s a combat zone — a war zone.
Atleast that’s what the Thugs of Donetsk and their supporters here have claimed for days as the Thugs denied the Dutch and Malaysians access to the shootdown site to collect the bodies of the innocents that the Thugs shot out of the sky.
Where was your concern then???
